I have heard many say that a power strip is a must. WHat kind of strip specifically. I have a 15ft. 2-prong 3-outlet cord...is this what I need. Thanks!

What do you need to plug-in camara, vido, shaver ect. What types of plugs do they have. If all of you equipment will plug in to the cord then it is a good size.

I don't think you need a power strip. I bring one of those outlet plug ins that converts a single outlet to 3. Enough for us. We were on Crystal recently and it was nice to have multiple outlets in the cabin.

We just came off the O'dam the end of the month... We had an extention cord with 3 outlets on the end of it... Never had to use it, even with curling irons, x2 & hair dryers... You have 4 outlets over the desk/make-up area & one in the bath... What are you charging??? We did cameras + all the other stuff & never touched the 3x ext. cord...

Take a cord & maybe you'll use it... You really don't need a full power strip! A bungee cord is much more practical to hold the door open to the verandah!!!

Pleased to hear they added more outlets on the Vista Class. If you are on an S Class, suggest bringing the equipment.

Depemding on how much equipment you intend to use at one time, an extension cord should be sufficient.

CatFan -
We always take an extension cord like mentioned above - so I can plug in the rollers, curling iron, or whatever if the outlet is too far from a mirror. (That's usually my big concern - outlet near mirror - not so much the number of outlets just distance). And of course we have the other gadgets - like the batter recharger, hubby's shaver, etc.

I noticed in your signature you and your wife are first-timers... If you are planning on beaches, definitely grab a couple water-resistant cameras. We take one each because once we start snorkeling we always see cool things (while vacationing on St John, we've seen huge hawksbill turtles, stingrays, fish, coral, old plane crash, etc). Photos have turned out well in the past. Since we've rented a dinghy for that day (St John - highly recommend), we definitely won't be taking our good camera with us - just the water camera. Another thing we bring: night light for the bathroom (can be pitch black at night). Also, an alarm clock if you are planning on being up at a certain time (we bring a small travel-size clock with batteries, or just rely on my watch that I wear when working out). For HMC, we're bringing a cheapie inflatable air mattress to float around on (got it on clearance after summer). Because we enjoy the beaches, we finally purchased our own snorkel gear a couple years ago. Since HAL allows wine to be brought on, we like to bring a bottle or two to keep in our cabin - usually a bottle that has special memories that we have picked up on vacation at a winery or something. Allows us to sip it while getting dressed for dinner or have late at night up on the sky deck. We're also huge bottled-water drinkers so we'll be picking up some on 17th street in FLL the night before to bring onboard as well - will be good to have on the beach with us. And of course hubby has to bring his credit card... with the late port time in St Thomas we'll definitely be doing some shopping after St John. We had bought our wedding rings there and I want earrings now... ;) I also want to bring back some things for friends.

Please come join our Zui rollcall! :) We have a terrific group ranging in age from late 20s on up... with other first-timers... from various places in the US and Canada. I finally hit the big 3-0 this summer  but it still hasn't sunk in. We're planning on getting together at the aft pool bar area after muster on Saturday. These next four days of school can't go fast enough... I love all 140 of my students but I'm definitely ready for a vacation!

Bring a new strip, though. My mom found an old one in the garage, and we decided just to bring that instead of disconnecting the computer's or buying a new one. BIG mistake. We plugged it in on the second day of the cruise, and started to get ready for dinner. We didn't pay much attention until we noticed it was smoking! My dad quickly unplugged it and put it out on the verandah. He asked the steward to dipose of it. We're just lucky we didn't set the ship on fire.
