Can anyone help me with the price of sending/receiving texts while on board or is internet cheaper? do you have to book to use internet facilities?;)

Texts depend on your tarrif with whichever mobile phone company you are with. When you are at sea you do lose signal though generally. Internet access does tend to be expensive, you get a log in and I have never had any problems getting logged on at a PC in the internet cafe- cant remember the price of the internet though sorry.

Depends which ship you are on, the Thomson Destiny has a GSM cellsite on a Satalite backhaul "cellular at sea" which allows gsm even out at sea, I used this for texting (cause calls are every expensive) and they seem to have come out of my inclusive allowence (i am on a o2 iphone tarrif) otherwise i think they are between 25 - 50p per text depending on tariff

We paid 35p to send textx on the celebration in apil, and was free to receive them
