Yes, yes, I know the places to stay are Embassy suites, Renaissance, etc. But I need to use some Holiday Inn priority points and thought what better opportunity than our pre-cruise stay. I already know not to stay at the H.I. on the beach & H.I. Express on 17th St. @ the convention center...but I have read virtually nothing about the "new" Holiday Inn air/sea port & the Airport Holiday Inn. Has any one got any input for us? The one at the airport sounds very nice w/ an onsite restaurant/lounge and pool & has received an award for excellence. Yes, I realize that we will have to pay a minimal fee for being transported to the port...not important. The H.I. air/sea port sounds very new w/ free transportation and a pool but has no onsite restaurant. Anyone care to try and "sell" me on one or the other? I would like to book VERY early in order to get the best room possible. I placed a post on the pre-post cruise board but have faith that you all will give me an honest & speedy reply. Thanks guys & gals!! Chef Nancy:)

I live here and I've never heard anything particularly good or bad about either. Obviously, I have never stayed in either, but I'm sure they are decent for a short stay.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn-Airport at I-95 and Sheridan Road while traveling in that area on business. It is a very nice hotel. They have lots of awards of excellence on the wall at the front desk, and they have obviously earned them. The property is nice, inside and out. Well kept, and not very old (or at least it doesn't appear to be). There are some other restaurants on Sheridan Rd. to the W. of the hotel. It's not very far S. of the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. It appeared to me (I didn't ask) that they have airport shuttle service and perhaps shuttle service to Port Everglades. I would easily stay there again without hesitation. I believe it would be a lot more convenient than the Holiday Inn Express on Hwy 84. Enjoy.

Jem & Ken,
Thanks so much for the info. I will wait to see if I get some other responses before cashing in on my points. After reading about the other 2 Holiday Inn's in the area I wanted to make sure either of these two were a little better! 308 days to go!! Nancy:)
