Hello

My husband and I are going on a short 2 day cruise this fall. (have never been on one this short before) Is there any way to find out if there will be a formal night? I love dressing up and would really not like to miss a formal night....but no point hauling my gown with me if it will not be needed ;-)

Your TA will have this information. However, on cruises this short, there have been reports of no formal nights.

If this is the beginning or end of a repositioning you might catch one night. For example, if you're on the first 2 nights and the day after your embarkation is a sea day, that will likely be a formal night. If you're on the last 2 nights of a repo, your 2nd night will definitely not be formal, but your first night might be. If your TA can't/won't help, try emailing HAL.

we were on the 3 day "fill in" cruise when the Eurodam came to Florida. We just went to the Bahamas and Half Moon Cay. Dress was smart casual with no formal nites.

thank you all for your replies. I will check with my TA. It does appear to be at the start of the re-positioning....as the ship continues south after our cruise...but it is sold completely separate. Oh well if that is all I have to worry about...I'd say life is good.

If you check in on line, it will tell you on your boarding pass that you can print out.
Hope this is helpful.

Hope this is helpful. When did this start? Is this new with the e-docs? I've never seen any such info on a boarding pass!

I checked in on line. I printed a document that says " Cruise ticket and signature preferred Boarding Pass"
There is a section entitled "Guest Details"
The lastline on the left hand side says:
Dress code: 2 Formal and 5 Smart Casual nights.
IN our case this refers to a voyage July 4 on Maasdam Canada New England
It is a seven day cruise.
I donlt know if this is new ornot becuase our last years HAl cruise, we were not able to check in on line so I can't comment there.
