Greetings -- I am inundated with Hal brochures on Europe and the Mediterranean, but my interests are in the South Pacific and Orient, right now. Does HAL send out periodic special savings brochures on these areas as well. Do I have to contact them first? I mean, Europe isn't everything!

You can go to HAL's website and register (if you haven't already.) You can then choose your preferences, including which cruise itineraries/regions hold interest for you. Sign up for e-mail alerts, too, and you'll get special sale info.

I just posted this on your other thread:

You can see many 2010 HAL offerings in Asia/South Pacific/Australia/New Zealand at this site:
http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/hal/voyages2010/#/0
You can also have it emailed to you from this page:
http://www.hollandamerica.com/cruise...ochures.action (http://www.hollandamerica.com/cruise-destinations/EBrochures.action)

There's three 14 day round-trip Sydney to New Zealand starting at $2099 inside, so with a 50% single supplement that would be around $3000. Plus airfare, of course. :)

I get brochures from HAL, e-mails, and the Marineer magazine. I checked all of the boxes that is why I get so many types of communications from HAL.

Like Krazy Kruizers , no matter how many times we register, there is no way we can get anything on line or in print from Hal. Over 400 active days travelled and 70 days booked and the only way we ever see a Mariners Mag is if I phone our PCC who will personally mail same, so take the mail if you can get it.

We've noticed that, whenever we're booked on HAL, the email offers immediately cease - guess they don't want us to see an offer that is lower than the price we've paid.
This is very frustrating - it seems HAL doesn't realize that, just because we're booked on a cruise, doesn't mean we wouldn't book an additional one if the price and itinerary were attractive.

That is interesting....I used to get all sorts of brochures from HAL and really enjoyed looking at them. I still get the Mariner magazine but don't get the brochures any more..........AND I am booked on the Grand South Pacific Australia New Zealand voyage. I wonder if that is why I don't get them any more. Very strange philosophy if that is true.

We're booked on the Circle Hawaii next April, and I've been receiving HAL's sales brochures. The only email I get is from Princess and Cunard.

That is exactly what I've noticed - snail mails and emails stopped once I booked a cruise. The booking is under my name, so my son set up an account and he gets the emails and magazines -- forwards them to me. Remember, we here on CC are savvy enough to watch for sales and price reductions, and to know such things can be applied to our current bookings, but most people don't. I always understood that HAL would automatically pass on savings, but I'm not so sure of it anymore.

I appreciate the confirmation that we aren't the only people experiencing this. We do still get some 'snail mail' offers from HAL after we are booked on a HAL cruise, but definitely none by email.

It seems that many are affected by this HAL policy and would like to see it changed.
-> would be interesting to hear DBA's comments .

IMHO, continuing to send us email offers after we are booked would do HAL more good than harm - the revenue generated from additional bookings is likely to outweigh any loss in profit because a few requested a price reduction.

On several occasions we have booked a future Princess cruise as a result of a good email offer, only to learn later that HAL had a deal we would have taken instead, but didn't know about due to email offers having ceased because we already had a HAL booking.

A little over a year ago, our e-mails from HAL abruptly stopped. I called, wrote & e-mailed numerous times to request that we get back on the list. I updated our HAL profiles on-line at their website several times, always checking 'yes' for future e-mail contact. All to no avail.

Then today, out of nowhere, I received a HAL e-mail promo for their holiday sailings. I did a double take! But it makes me think you're onto something. For over a year, we had several HAL future cruises booked. No communication. Then a couple of weeks ago we cancelled an upcoming HAL cruise, leaving us with none booked. And voila - we got mail!

Kinda counter-intuitive marketing. :rolleyes::rolleyes:
