On the Zui - This summer. Me and my two children, ages 9 and 12. If you were me which S suite would you choose and why. Is it better to get the big balcony in the aft or is it better to be by the Neptune to take advantage of that? Help!!

We are just back from the Zuiderdam. We had 7050 whiich is 2 cabins away from the neptune lounge. Great cabin. I would worry about the aft cabins as when you sit in any of the restauants the ships vibrates alot and would expect that to be the same in the cabins above or below.

We've cruised in an "S" on Zuiderdam five cruises and always enjoy being midship near the Neptune Lounge. The children will like being able to easily pop in for a snack. Zuiderdam is a loooong ship. Folks in the aft suites have a long walk to get back to the Neptune Lounge and I would guess most do not bother to go there very often.
Each has to choose for themselves. We have had an aft Suite (on Ocean Princess) and I did not enjoy the location. That particular ship had a lot of vibration when docking and leaving port (thrusters) and it annoyed us alot. We were in port 12 of 14 days. I also prefer a port or starboard
view.
Just my personal opinion and, of course, many prefer the aft.

I would take the midship Suite near the Neptune Lounge. The location is more stable. The suite itself is larger and the children will enjoy being able to zip right into the lounge at any time. By the way, the concierge will "spoil" them. The suite life has special perks for chldren, as in being spoiled by the concierge.

If you use the balcony a lot the back is awesome,We did a B2B and the Neptune was nice but not that big of a deal and its only 5 minutes away on the back,if the cookies and treats mean that much you could probably use the walk there anyway,or just have them delivered to your room the girls in the Neptune will do that.T he room on the back is a little smaller but the balcony is at least 3 times bigger.Cant go wrong with either. We were on the Oosterdam - sister ship to the Zuiderdam - and had a midship suite - 7054. It was handy to the Neptune Lounge. For our Westerdam cruise we will be in 7053.
Your kids will want to spend more time at the pool. So the larger cabin will be better than the larger verandah.

Just got off the Oosterdam 10/31/04. Had S suite 7053. The balcony was terriffic. Very large. About 10 steps from the Neptune Lounge which was a real plus. Especially for concierge questions.
Have a great cruise. HAL is the BEST.
