Can you use the Signature Express Baggage service if you are disembarking in Vancouver on Saturday, but flying out of Seattle on Sunday?

I would think that it only is good for flights leaving the same day as disembarkation.

And be aware that not all airlines participate in the program. We were unpleasantly surprised when we filled out the disembarkation form upon boarding that Southwest Airlines is NOT a participant in the Signature Express baggage offer.

Also, even if your airline does participate and you seem to fit all the prescribed parameters ... anyone can be refused participation for reasons unknown to and beyond the control of HAL. DHS has the final say. We were refused one year ... and the only difference was that for the year we had been refused we had booked two one-way tickets on AA. Same flights as the years we'd been accepted ... everything else about our travel was identical.

However, we have used the S.E.B. many times in Seattle and San Diego and it is a really great service. But, now that we're going to sail from Vancouver, we can save a ton of money by flying in and out of Seattle, and would still like to use the service.

Has anyone recently cruised from Vancouver, booked their air in and out of SEA-TAC and still been able to use SEB?

Thanks for your replies.

I have a feeling that the won't do it. How many bags would typically go from Vancouver to Sea-Tac?

I know that you can book ship transfers from Sea-Tac to Canada Place and reverse. They have to take the luggage for those folks.

No, they don't have to ... depends on the arrangement HAL has with their contracted bag service. For instance, for the Carib ... we fly in/out MIA and embark/disembark Port Everglades and use HAL post-cruise transfers ... SEB available only for FLL and not MIA, even tho HAL offers MIA transfers. We schlep our own bags to the HAL bus to MIA. I recognize the Carib is not an Alaska itinerary.

You might contact HAL directly and see if your scenario is acceptable.

That is a different situation: HAL uses Bags Inc for the Signature Express Baggage service and that's all they do - handle luggage, no passengers.

I have sent an email to HAL ship services with this question. I will post the answer here.
