How many times a year do you go on a cruise ????
While compiling the list of "who's going on a cruise" I was suprised to see that many cc'ers cruised more than once a year, so I thought this would be a fun poll to take :)
1 time a year
2 times a year
3 times a year
4 times a year
5 times a year
6 or more times a year
1 time every 2 years
1 time every 3 - 5 years

At least twice a year. A couple years ago we were lucky to be able to cruise 4 x within a 12 month period! Hope we're able to continue for a long, long time.

Twice a year suits us fine - although some years we have done more, and some less - really depends on itineraries and what happens to strike our fancy!

It's running about 2 per year for us. If I had my way, however, we'd be in the 6 category. But when you're poor and have to work for a living .... ;)

We try for about 3 times a year. It depends on Price and where we went to go. Penny

With my 10 work day a year vacation...at most I can have 2 1-week vacations.
This year we had 2 cruises (Med on RCI and Carib on Zui)...But next year as a previous one we wanted to have land vacation in Europe...so we will only cruise once.
I think we will cruise once a year from now on. (my husband doesn't want to repeat itineraries)

Usually twice, but occasionally three times, if the right itinery at the right price comes along. We also usually take two air trips, one to Ireland in the spring and one someplace else early fall.
Trying to get it all in before the final bell rings! LOL

We try to do two a year. We will only do at least 14 days in length otherwise it is not worth the airfare.
Our next two cruises will be 17 days and 21 days. I am working up to a world trip, though very slowly!!

We cruise between 4-6 times a year. Depends upon how long our cruises are or if we are doing b-to-b. DH is not yet retired so we have some retraints on our time away from home.

Was very fortunate to be able to go twice already this year.
Looking forward to once again next year, but who knows what may come...

We seem to be settling in to three cruises a year. We usually want the cruise to be ten days or longer. My husband is asking when we will do another B2B. No B2B planned in 2005, so we will have to do it again in 2006. It is so nice to watch the others get off when you DON'T HAVE TO!

The last three years we are averaging four a year, but with the prices increasing, I'm sure those days are over.:(
We had to adjust our motto: "A trip of a life time, every three months."
PS--Got my New Year's cruise (Volendam) documents today!!!:D
Enjoy!

Usually once a year---but it's a long cruise. A couple of times in the last few years I've done two cruises that added up to the 30+ day total.
I'm toying with the idea of switching to two mid-length cruises per year after next year's cruise is complete.
I still want to sail for 30 (or so) days per year, though. It's the best vacation for a woman travelling alone.

We try to take two 10 day cruises per year - once we tried one longer one once, the kids didn't care for it.
When we retire we would like to take a World Voyage... :)

Generally I got once a year. In 2005, I will be fortunate enough to do back to back cruises, which I am absolutely thrilled with. But I had to vote once per year as that's historically what I try to do.
When I retire, I'll have time to do more cruises per year, let's hope I have the pocketbook to match my taste!!!!!!

From last year through next year it winds up being once a year. But after out next cruise I think it will be several years before our next one, per DW's request.

Once every few years. We like to cruise to scope out areas for future land-based vacations. I like cruising in general but don't like being forced to be on a schedule. IMO when you're on vacation you should be as relaxed as possible but when we cruise it seems like we're always worried about making it back to the ship on time, getting ready for dinner on time, etc. I normally prefer vacations where you you can leave your watch and any kind of clock at home and totally go with the flow. This may be changing now though since we have a 1 year old. Our cruise 2 weeks ago with her was the perfect vacation for us. So maybe we'll start cruising more if the wallet allows it.

And you didn't say, "Hie thee ... off to a nunnery!":D ???Rule #1 - I'm not happy unless DW is happy.
Actually, she feels a lot like JoeCruisin. She's enjoyed our cruises, but preferred our honeymoon at an all-inclusive. Less of a schedule. Plus, this may be sacrilege on the HAL board, but she could do away with the formal nights.
It's not that she doesn't want to cruise anymore, she would also like to do some land vacations. Since we've had three cruises in a row, she's due for some of her vacations.

We like to vary our vacations a bit. So much to do, so little time:D . Since we've moved to Florida we've cruised once a year, but this will probably change to less. DH only gets 4 weeks off total and one is over Christmas when we're with family as a rule.
There truly are other vacations in life besides cruising:eek: . I decided this cruise that one week is simply not enough. I no sooner get settled in (about 2 days) than I start getting sick;) and then it's time to come home. So I think 10 days to 2 weeks is a better plan.
But I'm really looking forward to some other kinds of vacations after our Celebrity Panama Canal cruise next year. And I'm definitely over the Caribbean ..... at least for awhile.

Once or twice a year, depending upon what's going on. In 02 I went twice, in 03 only once (problems with schedules). In 04 I went twice and in 05 I'll be going twice.

We go twice a year, one with kids one without...last year we went twice with kids, Spring Break and New Years...my hair is grayer I swear! This last was with my mom so she is kinda like a kid, and the next one is Spring Break 2005 Mexican Riviera. I am so tired of the Caribbean, and can't take the kids on a 10 day cruise because school is so strict about missing. I like to land vacation as well, Hawaii is absolutley my favorite vacation, we go every other year, I was married barefoot on the beach there and I hope my ashes end up in Hanalei Bay along with Puff!

Once a year right now but we both work so coordinating time away is sometimes a problem. Plus, heaven forbid, we do have other interest and family to visit or have visit us. We're looking into a land based vacation next year but who knows. After the Galaxy my cruise planning will be focused on my dream retirement cruise and that's the Med in 2008. Probably will squeeze at least one cruise in before that. We prefer 10 to 14 days.....works the best for our offices and gives us the feeling we've really had a break.

Throught is board, I am able to cruise virtually every day... I wish I could cruise 3 or more times a year. Last year we went twice but in reality once per year os what we can deal with. I just recently changed employers... getting back to the vacation level I had before is going to take some time.
But... I will long for the day that I can criuse 3 or more times a year and keep scheduling my yearly November cruise.

Believe it or not, you can get good deals if you look for them.
I guess it all depends on what one's priorities are in life. If you don't mind living in a cheaper house, maybe not driving a newer car, etc. ... then you can cruise more often.
In my case, I'm just a working stiff ... I make a decent living, but not all that great of one. But, then ... I don't spend a lot of money on "things," ... I don't have expensive jewelry ... I don't even own a car. I have always been the type of person who considers collecting "experiences" more important than acquiring things. I live in a modest home with my 91-year-old father, and don't spend a lot of money on other forms of entertainment. So, I can afford to cruise twice a year. Of course, next year will probably only be one cruise ... but that's a special one ... 30 days Hawaii/South Pacific ... yeah!
Blue skies ...

We try to go 2-3x a year. Our 9 year old will be going on his 13th cruise next month. There are times that the kids get to go on vacation to Grandma & Grandpa house instead, which they almost prefer sometimes.

I usually cruise twice a year. BUT no longer are cruises my vacation of choice and now I only go with deep discounted bargains. I am fortunate to have 8 paid weeks off per year with an overpaid job. I've got a ways to retirement and am living for today. :) 32 cruises so far, with 33 and 34 booked for 2005.

I voted 4 per year, but I've been bad, very bad--we have six cruises coming up in the next 13 months. (Mercury 03/05; Caribbean Princess 06/05 btob with the Zuiderdam; Costa Mediterranea btob with the Coral Princess 12/05; and the Millennium 03/06.) It seems you must book way in advance, or inside the 70 day period, to get a deal.
Enjoy!
