We just booked 2 of the aft cabins on the navigation deck on the Zuiderdam. Rooms 8122 and 8129. Has anyone ever stayed in them? Can the partitions be opened wide enough to make a bigger veranda? Was there any noise from the lido deck during the day? Basically are we going to love this or hate it? I've also heard rumors that one can be 'seen' from above. Not that we are doing anything bad out there but I dont like to be spied on or spit on from some little kid. Any imput would be helpful. We like to know what to expect before we get there.
Thanks

Was there any noise from the lido deck during the day? Not to my recall. My Zuiderdam cruise was 7 days, my Oosterdam was 21 days. Basically are we going to love this or hate it? Since I don't know you, I have no idea. I personally loved it. But you are not me. I've also heard rumors that one can be 'seen' from above. Not on the Navigation deck as there is a considerable overhang. Other decks are more exposed. Not that we are doing anything bad out there but I dont like to be spied on or spit on from some little kid. He'd have to have quite a goober to defeat the wind.

Hi Majika:
We were in the exact cabin you'll be in!!
1) Can the partitions be opened wide enough to make a bigger veranda?
NO - the partitions do not open, and they are not clear, so you have privacy. So you'll have to visit your friends or have them over if you want to share the balcony.
2) Was there any noise from the lido deck during the day?
SOME - and usually around 7-8 pm when they put the loungers away. But it only lasted a little while. Aside from that it was very quiet thoughout the day and night.
3) Basically are we going to love this or hate it?
We loved it!! The balcony is much larger than on the sides, we had 2 teak loungers, two wickers chairs and a table. It's very large.
4) I've also heard rumors that one can be 'seen' from above. Not that we are doing anything bad out there but I dont like to be spied on or spit on from some little kid.
NO - this is the only deck that we cannot look onto because of the overhang from the lido deck - which also provides shade onto your balcony. So noone can see or throw things onto your balcony.
We really enjoyed this cabin and its location, just one deck from the pool, the restaurant etc.
Have a wonderful cruise, and do not hesitate to ask any other questions!!
