And if it's a closeup picture you get my utmost thanks...
(see this thread (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1010808) if you're curious why I ask...)

I just checked my pictures from April of a balcony cabin on Maasdam. There are no ports showing on the front of the TV. It is a flat screen LG. I didn't take any pictures of the back of the TV nor did I try to disconnect the DVD player so no answers on ports in the back.

Sorry, no pics of the TV.
Speaking of the OV TV, am I the only one who needed to hold the remote above my head to change the channel?

Possibly someone in HAL's Ships' Services could answer this question for you, especially if you explain the reason (that it isn't just morbid curiousity :D )

This is a really blurry picture because I had to blow it up 200%.
This is from the Westy, a superior verandah suite.

I found it very awkward to change chanels and usually had to stand up. I preferred the old set to the new.

The TV is mounted on a three sided shelf that fits into the corner with the mirror on one side. You cannot move it. There are buttons out of sight along the right side. The DVD player is mounted under the shelf. I assume the cables are passed up through a hole in the shelf...I never looked. EM

We've found different types of TVs in different configurations on different ships. This is from our most recent OV, on the Amsterdam.

So it's okay to hook up my Wii to that one then? :D

The Oosterdam OV TV is much lower than the Veendam OV TV was, which was close to the ceiling. If I was sitting on the couch, I had to hold the remote above my head to change the channel. From the bed it wasn't as bad, I guess because the distance from the TV gave the angle a better shot at working (geometry isn't my strong point), but it was a pain when sitting closer.

If the TV in your cabin is a flat panel one, you can count on it having the necessary connections for Wii. However, the connections may not be accessible because of the way that it is mounted.
The Wii specs say that is has component video, composite video and s-video outputs....the input ports on the tv for these should be on the left hand side, in most cases and also on the back / bottom. It looks to me from the pictures that it will depend on which layout you get -- tv on the left or right side of the cabin (which side of the TV is exposed).
bottom line....no way of telling for sure, so bring the Wii and cables for one of the video outputs.
