Are most of the menus the same for all of HAL? Any recent Vegetarians sail on the Oosterdam? Is there a seperate menu in addition to the veg entree on the dining room menu?

Last fall (before all the recent menu changes) we were seated near another couple one of whom was a practising vegetarian. She did get the steward to bring a seperate vegetarian menu, although it was the same every night.

I just bought a Frommers cruise 2005 guide. They state that HAL has the best vegetarian menu. In fact they are the only cruise line that has a complete menu dedicated to vegetarians.
Hope that helps!

Thanks-that does help. Celebrity does have a seperate veg menu also.
Something to look forward to--not that we have ever gone hungry on a cruise!!!!!!! This is our first time on HAL.

Last month, on the Zuiderdam, there was no special vegetarian menu. There were two vegetarian entrees listed on the regular menu each night, the salad was always veg friendly and there would be at least one soup and one appetizer that were vegetarian.
Nothing was specially noted as being vegetarian, but it was very easy to pick out which things that were. Just keep in mind that most soups, like french onion, use meat based stock.

Haven't been on HAL since January, but at that time, upon request, they would bring the vegetarian menu after dinner along with the next night's menu; if you didn't want the option listed for the next night, you could select anything from the vegetarian menu. My sis loved the spring rolls and had them almost every night.
