I will be sharing a cabin with a friend on my next HAL cruise. Can we use our individual credit cards for on board purchases, shore excursions, etc.? If we choose to take different shore trips, can they be handled separately, or do we use one card and settle up after the trip? Can these trips be booked online? Thanks for any help. PollyH

You each can use your own credit card on the ship. Just make certain that you don't add the other person's name to the list of people allowed to charge on your credit card while on the ship.
Online booking - not certain if HAL's form will do just one persons shore excursions.

That sums it up in a nutshell.
Now for the specifics. When you board you will be asked to submit a credit card; you have the opportunity to list all the people charging to that card. In your case it will be just you; your friend will do the same thing separately.
You can each fill out a separate Shore Ex request. If you do it on board you will be charged to the individual on-board account. If you decide to take the same shore-ex you arrive at the departure point together to get the same departure number.
If you book on-line you charge the request immediately to whatever card you use. You can each book on-line separately. Again, you report together if you want to do the excursion together.
Does that answer you question? If not, just ask for clarification. Someone else might explain it better.
Have a good time!

When you book on-line, you're asked your "passenger number" (I think it's called) which is "001" for the first person, "002" for the second. When you book an excursion it asks if its only for you or for everyone in your cabin - and bills accordingly.
