I couldn't help notice your remark on purchasing the set of menus. Did I read correctly??

I started wondering about that after I got home, and realized that I WASN'T offered menus on my last night on the Zenith.
It didn't occur to ask them the last night, was not in a good state of mind. (Long story.... you'll hear more later)

So, is this a new practice on HAL?
No souvenier menus? I always thought of that as a personal gift from the waiter and his assistant. But to actually make you PAY FOR THE SET?? Didn't think that HAL would have the gall.

This is what happens when you leave a fav line for a while...
miss all the 'new' things on board .....
:-(

BTW ..... great job on your write-up!

Paying for menus it is not all that new. I think it started about 2 years ago.

Vic

You read correctly. We accidently came across a table set up by the Lido Pool one day showing a folder with the menus up to that date and the price of $9.95 for the entire set to be given to you the last night of the cruise.

On one of my general comments about the Statendam, I mentioned that we observed that each evening quite a few of the menus from the upper level were taken down to the lower level of the dinning room once the upper level people had order their meals.

So it wouldn't be possible for the waiters to give a set of menus to the passengers since it is apparent they are not printing a lot of the menus.

It appears that each ship is doing their own thing.
