I've been following the problems Kween Karen has had with her TA in another thread, and it has made me realize and appreciate how much these boards have helped DH and me with our cruises over the last few years. You have helped us find the right cabins, understand cruising "customs", select itineraries, pronounce ship's names, plan shore excursions, avoid embarrassing situations, and much, much more. I've learned about things to watch for in TAs, concerns about changes to TSA rules, and how the US laws affect B2B cruises. Even the differing opinions help, or maybe especially the differing opinions help, because we all have our own likes and dislikes.

I feel a little silly doing this, but I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge. Trish

I totally agree with you. There are alot of people on this board that give alot of their time helping others. Sometime we tend to forget that

Please don’t feel silly at all – I’m joining you.

Like you I have very few posts compared to many others on this board – but like very many other infrequent posters, I’m here lurking almost every day. It would be difficult to describe all the little things I’ve learned from the experienced HAL travelers here, and I continue to pick up a little more info all the time in preparation for our next cruise.

I also continue to be impressed with the regulars who post here nearly every day – particularly those who are patient enough to answer the same question a hundred times over and wish new users a warm welcome to Cruise Critic.

I too thank you for freely sharing what you’ve learned with all comers.

I totally agree! This site has been a wonderful gift, as my husband and I have just recently begun cruising. CC is by far the best place to learn everything! Thank you so much to those who help out the newbies like me! :D

We are happy to be of assistance. Don't you love those words. It kills me. No, really, how often do you hear that? Usually customer service is surly and bitter but we, on Cruise Critic, can take a bow. Not me, but so many others. I find so much very funny but so many people are willing to take travel seriously. I support that!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)

I agree completely ... CC has saved us thousands of dollars as well. As well as answered questions from the general to the miniscule. The vast majority of posters here are generous and knowledgeable, and I think we're fortunate to have them here.

Thanks for your nice words. I know some are negative but I find these boards to be very good and even when I am not posting, I am still reading the HAL posts.

I'd like to add my thanks, also.

By the time we went on our cruise, we felt like seasoned cruisers thanks to the knowledge I gained here on CC. Even some fellow passengers were impressed.

The members here are great, answering the same questions over and over and yet remaining patient and helpful.

I hope I can "pay it forward". :)

I totally agree. It seems like every day I learn something from this board. I email SIL threads or posts, and then when we talk each day, it's always: Did you see that?

Many thanks to all of you out there who share your experiences and knowledge with all of us.

I agree that this HAL Section of CC is a great community with some wonderful cruisers/chatters. :)

I've learned tons here and enjoy coming daily when possible.
The next best thing to cruising HAL ships is talking about it. :)

Nice to spread the thanks around to everyone who happily shares their knowledge and experience and fun.

Absolutely! This is one of the nice things in life. I've been cruising for a long time. I'm not sure how I did it before without my Cruise Critic family! I always look to everyone here for advice, and give mine when asked! Thanks everyone!

Thanks, Sue

Yes!:)
Our last cruise was the first I had used an online broker, and I was a little hesitnt. After reading a post here, I went to my cc statement and found my payment had posted to HAL not the TA. No problem like Kween Karen, but I wouldn't have known before.
Just one example of things I have learned here.:p

CC is by far the best place to learn everything! Thank you so much to those who help out the newbies like me! :DLet me add my voice too ... these boards, and the people on them, have been a Godsend to me as well. Just using Karen's thread about the problems she is going through with her travel agent ... if I had not read on these boards in the past about the importance of all deposits and final payments processing through credit cards directly to HAL, I wouldn't have known that either and wouldn't have known to question any case where it wasn't to be that way.

That's just one example. There are literally tons of others.

So I thank everyone on these boards who share ideas and tips and suggestions with their fellow cruisers. After all, even for someone who may consider themselves an "expert" on cruising, there are still a whole lot of things to be learned. These boards help us to do that. Plus, they're just plain fun too! :)

Me too. My husband and I took our first cruise Feb. 2007 and I bombarded everyone with questions. Because of you I was prepared and understood what was going on. Cruising is it's own little world. I feel especially bad about Rita, she answered many of my questions. She was always one of the first one,(her and Ruth).

I just read about Rita, and it's so hard to believe. I always looked for her "blue skies" signoff. Trish

We will miss Rita here.

She displayed the very best of what a CC member can contribute and she helped a lot of people.

God Bless Her and Her Family.
