I'm booked for Aug. 29th. 2009 and havn't gotten the blue folder from HAL yet....
I was wondering usually how long before the sail date do you receive all the documents?

We got ours about a month before our 8/15 sailing date. Are you sure you're set up for paper docs and not the e-docs?

Ours came in the range of 4-6 weeks before sailing. (We never had HAL air, as that delays document receipt by a week or two.)

In the past we got ours about 7 weeks before the cruise. But now I understand that you can't print out your documents until 50 days before your cruise.
Did you book HAL air? -- if so HAL makes those final arrangements about 25 - 30 days from the cruise date.
Did you book a guarantee?? -- if so HAL may be waiting to assign you a cabin -- this can even happen as late as sail date.

We usually got ours about 2 months before sailing. If you haven't gotten them in another 2 weeks, just go with the edocs.
Did you book a guarantee?? -- if so HAL may be waiting to assign you a cabin -- this can even happen as late as sail date. That doesn't matter. For all of our guarantees the docs shipped about 6 weeks before we were assigned a cabin. They always just said 0-Guar or 0-(class)

If you are set up to receive paper docs instead of electronic ones, you may track them here if you are in the US: http://fedex.com/us/
Use your HAL confirmation number as the reference number for tracking.
