This is our first cruise with HAL and I trying to get familiar with the ship but not sure if I am reading the deck plans correctly. We cruise on Sunday and I just logged in to get our cabin assignment and it says we are in stateroom #323. I 'think' it looks like we would have Lanai cabin and would like confirmation from others because this would be one AWESOME upgrade if it is. We originally booked an Inside Cat M cabin. We knew we had been upgraded to a Cat F Guarantee since our TA called when their was a sale after we booked so the prices had gone down and I thought that was terriffic just to have a window. I never dreamed it would get any better.

YIPPEE!!!!! I am sooooo excited. I REALLY wanted a balcony cabin but we just could not justify the increased cost so this is awesome we can just pop out to the promenade to view the beauty of Alaska whenever we want.
Do they ever change room assignments once they post them on the website? Should I be worried they may realize they made a mistake and change us back to an Ocean View Room (that would be nice too but a disappointment now that I am so excited about the possibility of a Lanai cabin)
Does anyone know if the Lanai cabin's have a mini fridge?

I do not believe they have a mini-fridge. On the non-Vistas, mini-fridges are only in the verandah and suite staterooms.
Yes, your cabin could be re-assigned before sailing, even at the pier. But, I don't think it'll be because HAL thinks they made a mistake. My guess: if it is changed again, it will be to a category higher than the lanai cabin. Depends on how the ship is selling, how many guarantees, etc.

Thanks so much for the helpful quick responses!!! I feel reassured that I can get really excited about cabin assignment now.

It does not. If you want a fridge you can rent one for $2.00 per day.

More accurately---on the S- and R-class ships, mini-fridges are only in the veranda and suite staterooms.
Besides the Vista class, the Signature class and the Prinsendam have a fridge in every cabin.

Really???? For $2 per day, it would be worth it. Do you have to arrange this before you board or can you get a fridge in your room once you board?

There are a limited number of mini-fridges available, so it's best to arrange one as early as possible. Since you're leaving very soon, have your TA tomorrow morning.

Congratulations:) That is a lovely upgrade. 323 is also by itself ,so not in a row of lanai cabins,,, nice spot.
Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy the promenade ,one of the best things about sailing Hal

Thanks, Ruth, for clarifying the issue. I was having a short-attention-span moment and was not clear.

The poor little Prinsendam tends to be forgotten, so I always want to include it in a listing. It's a nice ship.
