Fodor's 2009 Alaska told me all about it.
The book says it is Alaska's state drink.
"It manages to weed out the meek and shy just by its name alone.
It is comprised of Kahlua, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Crown Royal."

Bill
ps Wonder if it is on Hal's bar list?

If you ever watch "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery about crab fishing in Alaska the fishing boat Captains gather the day before each season in a bar in Dutch Harbor and drink Duck Farts.

I think it gets it's name from it's appearance. The bailiey's sort of coagulates on top of the other contents.

I never knew exactly what was in them until now...I think I'll pass. My bizzare shot drinking days have long passed!

Who thinks up these awful names for drinks? Great marketing genius. I wouldn't order it, no matter what was in it, based on the name alone. Very unappealing. Plus, I like ducks. I used to have two. Their names were Donald and Daisy. No lie. When I lived on a farm.

Your Post brings back a fond memory..

In the 70's, 2 Gals in my office each purchased a doz. newborn Peking Ducklings for their kids instead of spliting the doz..As they grew, the Gals soon realized it was a big mistake..Therefore, many of us were roped ;) into taking a couple for our kids..

We lived in a suburban home, on a canal, on Long Island..I brought two home for our Son who named them Huey & Dewey.. They grew up to be very large beautiful white Peking ducks...As they grew, DH built larger & more elaborate insulated pens in our dog run..They also had a baby pool with a slide, however, they much preferred flying into the canal..

Our Lab, Sam, was not keen on sharing his run with Huey & Dewey & thought it was great fun to chase & try to grab a few of their tail feathers..:D

Huey & Dewey had just enough of Sam's shenanigans..They finally turned tail & would try to nip him on his, derrière..They often got him & Sam would run like the devil thru the doggie door back nto the house..

We always got such a kick out of these two ducks chasing our big Lab..After a few years, we gave Huey & Dewey to someone who lived on a farm & who promised not to send them to slaughter...I often wonder if she kept her promise..

DH loves to eat Long Island Duck & for years I would tell him he might be eating Huey or Dewey..:( LOL

Thanks for the memory..:):)

Betty

P.S. I enjoy Bailey's Irish Creme but would never order the Drink Ducks F""";)

During my drinking days I think we called this concoction a "Dirty Mother"...not a Duck Fart....but I may be wrong.

The only thing I remember about Dirty Mothers is being on my hands and knees in a parking lot behind a bar in Hot Springs Arkansas making vile noise as I emptied my stomach of the vile concoction!!

If you want to see hundreds of creative names for cocktails, old and new check out the following website: www.DrinksMixer.com (http://www.DrinksMixer.com). Some brought back happy memories of days gone by and others made me cringe.;)

If it's got Bailey's in it, I'd certainly try it. Names don't bother me.:D

When I read the title of this thread, several thoughts ran thru my head. Drinking was not one of them. My husband is a duck hunter. When he cleans them, smells sometimes pop up. I was just wondering if this was what you were referring to. I've never heard of this drink. Probably wouldn't try it, since I don't do 'hard' liquor. That sounds pretty hard.

Plan to try one on our 9/20 Statendam cruise, in honor of the crews of the "Deadliest Catch", our favorite show. We're also doing the Bering Sea Crab Fishing excursion. Can't wait!
