If all goes well, we'll arrive at Seatac about 11am for our 4pm departure. We have prepaid transfer to the pier, but not via HA. Assuming we get to the ship by say 2pm, can we check in (already have computer preboarding), leave our luggage, and run up to Pike's Market and back without missing the boat? With so little time, we'd love to pick up a couple bottles of wine for the cabin and maybe some flowers, but also don't want to get into a time jam. Since our transfer is probably a bus we wouldn't have the option of diverting it to the market. Not a big deal, just getting anxious (8/9 departure on Westerdam). Thanks, John

Another option would be to pick up a couple bottles of Washington State wine at the "Washington Store" at SeaTac. We did this last time and it was very easy. The wine we selected was not very good however.

I agree that doing that is cutting way to close!

You could do it, but you need way more time than that. There is a really nice walking trail along the waterfront from Terminal 91 that will take you right to Pike Place Market. Takes about 30-35 minutes for us to walk from the parking lot for the trail near Terminal 91 to Pier 66 downtown (about 2 miles). The market is just up the hill from Pier 66. I would allow at least 45 minutes (longer if you aren't fast walkers) to walk from the ship to the market. I would say if you are on the ship my noon you could venture out and do this, but 2:00 is way too late.

OK, got the answer I needed. Maybe I can dispatch my wife - she's a fast walker - ha ha. I guess we'll just enjoy the boat and buy our wine on board. Thanks for the feedback.

Arriving at 11AM without a HAL transfer is cutting it too close. Last year we arrived an SeaTac at 11AM from the east coast and after getting our bags and locating where the airport transfer companies were took us 30 minutes or more. After we found them and got to the correct location, we had to wait til the van was FULL.....another 30 minutes.....you'll make it as long as: your plane leaves on time, you have no weather problems ANYWHERE in the USA, and there is not a "machanical" for your aircraft, e.g. a light in the bathroom.
You should leave Wisconsin earlier in the morning !!! Sleep on the plane.
HAVE A FUN TRIP :):):):)

Pack one bottle in your luggage and you can buy more at your first port stop.

Go to the Lucky Mart, great prices and they deliver to the ship.

I just picked up our documents and we do indeed have HAL transportation from Seatac to the pier - I am somewhat relieved. I've picked up a bunch of those little wine bottles which will find their way into shoes, etc. Not fine wine, but we'll save that for the meals, these are just for in the cabin enjoyment.
Thanks again for all the comments. I've been watching the performance of the MKE-SEA flight and it's been excellent all season, but I don't think I'd take such a tight connection again. All it takes is one bald tire and I risk the cruise.
