Maybe someone can help, we live in Utah and are flying out of las vegas for 3 weeks, land/cruise. Normally we fly out of LA where we have another home and do not worry about parking our car because we leave it in our driveway.
I have searched all the internet I can to find a place cheaper than 8 dollars a day, but cannot find anything.
Anyone know of a cheaper place? We could stay one night in a hotel on our return, but most of the hotels say 7 or 14 day limit.
Any help please?

Have never seen anything about 7 or 14 day stays. I know that the Palace Station has shuttle service to and from the airport. If you stay there, perhaps ask them about parking? They usually have reasonable hotel rates. Especially in these tough times.

$8 a night for parking sounds reasonable to me; I know this is of no help to you but maybe some Vegas resident knows of something better:)

We will be flying out of Las Vegas for our next cruise. I had hoped to find a Park and Fly lot or hotel package. I wasn't comfortable with the choices, so we will use the long term lot at the airport. Sites I checked showed $5 a day...much better than the $15 a day we pay to park across from the cruise pier in San Diego.

Love to know where there are 5 dollar parking places in Las Vegas. It is not the money it is just we hate to pay it. If anyone has other suggestions please let me know.
Thanks

HAve you thought about leaving the car at home and renting a car to drive to Las Vegas and then rent one for the return trip back? Or depending on how far you are from LV, consider hiring a car to pick you up (like Groome or another company) and take you to the airport and back. If the $ isless than or equalt to leaving the car..... may be an option. Then you dont have to worry about the car being damaged while you are gone

Opps! I stand corrected. The long term lot rate at McCarren is $8, $14 in the Garage, according to the airport official site www.mccarran.com (http://www.mccarran.com) .
I guess we will be paying a little more, but it is still a bargain.

I gotta ask the dumb question:
Wouldn't it be cheaper or at least easier to fly to Vegas? Seems that Southwest always has cheap fares...

Good Question, Brian! I was able to get first class award seats on Delta for few miles and $10 tax. We prefer to fly out of Ontario, CA but the routing was from LAX Los Angeles or LAS Las Vegas. I would rather drive to Vegas than into LA. If we flew from Ontario to Vegas we would still have to pay to park our car there, and possibly stay in a hotel the night before!

I am going to call some other hotels and see what they have to offer.

I have friends in Vegas who leave their car at MGM when they travel - but it's still a risk. I think I'd just pay the long-term parking fee....

We would never leave our car where we did not have permission, it is very risky, especially not 3 weeks...

So, I researched hotels today. Palms and MGM will let you leave your car for extended periods, Palms does not have shuttle service to the airport but MGM does. I was told to park it with the Valet, tip them and it is a done deal.

For 5 years, ive been parking at any of the Harrahs hotels in vegas and taking a taxi to the airport, return and stay the night, give my parking ticket to Valet and drive home....i live an hour out of vegas. when i leave for my flight to Rome this Sunday, i will give my keys to valet, stay the night, get a taxi to the airport at 4;30 in the morn, return in 3 weeks, take a taxi to the hotel ($12) give my ticket to valet and drive home. i found this out, 5 years ago when i asked a valet guy at 'Ceasars' if i could leave my car there for 14 days and they said it wasnt a problem. i take at least 4 trips a year like that.

If anyone would know the answer to your question it would be Lisa Laffin. She is also known as LaffinVegas. She lives in Las Vegas and I am sure she would know the answer if your question is answerable.

That sounds like the same type of program, the difference is that we don't need to stay the night before our flight but do when we return. We will have a reservation and verify it with the valet so that we can leave our car. Thank you for confirming that this is possible.

If you are a little adventureous you can park at the CAT (city bus) South Strip Transfer Park n Ride lot for the cost of the bus ride to McCarran. We always do that when we cruise. Bus Fare is $1.50 per person and parking at the lot is FREE. The 110 Maryland Parkway Bus runs about every 15 minutes. The bus is not crowded going to and from the airport, but you have to able to handle your luggage. We have parked for as long a 3 weeks - you just have to let security know your plans. The lot is well lit and has security 24 hours a day.

Thanks for the excellent information. Lulusmom, which are the Harrahs hotels, I know the one across from Ceasars? (I think Ceasars is one now). The bus idea is great other than we will have a lot of luggage and are returning at midnight. It could be doable.
As always these forums are a life saver.

Midnight is doable, remember Vegas is a 24 hour town. The buses run every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. Harrahs hotels are Harrah's, Caesers, Flamingo, Bill's Gambling Hall, Imperial Palace, Bally's, Paris - they are all on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo

:o I am sorry but I really cannot help you. Even though we live here we have never used long term parking. What I would suggest is calling any of these Hotels you are considering because after 3 or 4 days of the vehicle not being moved they may tow it. I know that McCarran Airport has long term parking but it can get costly. I wish I had an easy answer for you.

We just returned from a 3 week trip, we parked at Imperial Palace in Valet parking, there was no problem leaving our car for that long.
