I am trying to locate the website for Chankanaab. Does anybody have this? I thought I would book this excursion through the ship but after reading many comments I think we will venture out on our own. Any info on this I would appreciate.

Thanks

I used to have Chankanaab's website bookmarked, but the link doesn't appear to work any more. No loss. You can easily find all the info you need on Chankanaab on this message board.

Our group did Chankanaab on our own 2 weeks ago. It is $12 for admission, and extra for snorkel rental, sea lion show, and swimming with dolphins. For your admission price, it is money well spent to snorkel, use the beach and showers, and explore the botanical gardens with ruin replicas. We spent the afternoon there, and everyone in our group agreed we should have spent the entire day! The taxi was $10 for 4 people, so the total cost is wwaaayyy cheaper than booking through the cruise line. (we took our own snorkel equipment and rented vests only)

Have no fear about getting back and forth. Taxi's are EVERYWHERE both to take you there and pick you up! Our drivers were very pleasant and knowledgable about the area, and pointed out spots of interest along the way. The taxi ride from our pier (the furthest away) was about 10-15 minutes.

I think Chankanaab is a great place to do on your own, and would appeal to all ages! Hope this helps.

alb38,

I never could find a "direct" link to a website for Chankanaab Park when I was trying to book a combo dolphin/sea lion swim. I did, however come across the one below and they were very helpful. From near as I can tell, they either ARE the park's website, or they work with the park to book the excursions.

I had done alot of research on this site to make sure that they were legit, and was very satisfied in dealing with them. Even when I had to cancel due to hurricane Jeanne, they were extremely helpful and accomodating. Not once did they give me a problem with a refund. I plan on going through them again for my upcoming March cruise. Hope this helps.
