Can anyone tell me about the themed evenings Country and western and the British evening?
Do we go to dinner dressed for example in Jeans ?
Or on the british night do we wear union jack t shirts or more smart attire in red white and blue

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! :) You will see a real mix! :D
I've only done the British night. People wore either separate clothes in the 3 colours (eg I wore blue trousers with a red top and white cardigan and DH blue jeans, white shirt and a red tie) Some had a Tshirt or tie with flag on. Some people took bowler hats and of course some people just wore ordinary attire! Plastic Union Jacks are given out and there's a sing-a-long!

For the Western evenings some people really dress up in jeans, checked shirts and cowboy hats. Since 9/11 there has been a ban on gun belts! On British (or red, white and blue nights) you can simply wear these colours. Passengers of other nationalities are invited to wear their national colours. Red, white and blue covers British, French, Dutch and Americans so it is easy for them. It is all very casual. On some cruises there is a tropical night - but that is another story!
Nothing is compulsory - you are on holiday, but quite a number join in.

We have participated in Western Night, jeans, checked shirt/blouse and hubby had a hat. On Caribbean night hubby bought a cheap (awful) floral shirt to wear and I wore normal clothes. We have never participated in British Night, a little left over from the British shyness over this. As to the Union Jacks, since the BNP took these over it is a little embarrasing (to us). Other people enter into the spirit of the thing and it is all good fun. Last year on Balmoral we had a Halloween Night which was very entertaining (although we did not take part in the dressing up). Many passengers worked very hard on the get ups and it was all very good fun.

The union flag doesn,t embarrass me neither does singing British songs ,what a shame you feel the BNP has a monopoly on our flag and spoils your entertainment.:)
