I've booked cabin 7001 on the Westerdam for next April's Transatlantic cruise. I've read alot about aft cabins, and in fact, have been in an aft suite on the Zuiderdam and enjoyed it, but wanted to try a forward cabin this time around.
Does anyone have any experience with very forward cabins on the Vista class ships? I've only read one comment about it being very windy.
Thanks.

rain,
We were on this Oosterdam in Dec 03 and had cabin a6004 (see photo's of larger wheelchair room)http://community.webshots.com/photo/106182725/106189234RVubnC
Due to the storm that hit the week we sailed, yes it was very windy but not any worse than anywhere else on the ship that week. What was neat was there is the entire front deck area on decks 6&7 that not a lot of people know about or venture to. This was nice as we almost had the entire large area to ourselves the entire cruise. It was windier than than the side or aft of the ship but so quiet and private! The one thing I did not like was the bridge crew's bottom window seemed to invade our privacy. Not as much invasion as the aft, but ........
We're on the Westerdam aft next month, so I can compare for you after then if you would like.

Back in July 04 I occupied room 7002 on the Oosterdam. It was nice, but being in Alaska it was cold but i don't feel that being in the forward bow area had much to do with that. as far as wind is concerned there are partitions which prevented the frontal headwind from effecting me. You will be fine!

Thank you for the info. We upgraded to an SS suite last week, so we won't be in the forward cabin after all, but the info is good to know for the future.

We had cabin 6008 in October. Loved it!! The deck up front that NO ONE else uses or even seems to know about is great!!! Check the photos on our site, one of them is looking up at the navagation wing while coming into port, you'll see crew bringing it in as we look up through the glass foor of the wing. Many other pix from the "private" deck up front...
