I need to make reservations in FLL for the end of Feb. 2005. Valutrips quotes Amerisuites at: Plantation $89, and 17th Street @ $109. These are good prices compared to Amerisuites website.

Now for my questions:
1. Is either of these locations better than the other?
2. Does Valutrips charge a service fee for making the reservations?
3. Can I cancel these reservations without a fee if I should get a better deal thru Priceline?

Thanks in advance for any and all comments. Happy Gobble Gobble day to you.

The Amerisuites 17th St. location (actually on SE 10th Ave.) is closer to the airport and to Port Everglades. I'd never used ValueTrips before yesterday, but your other questions are answered on their web site. ValueTrips doesn't charge anything for their services. (I don't know how they make money, but that's another matter.) Some hotels will charge your credit card right away, others only use it to guarantee your room. The conditions will be shown on the page when you click through to fill in the reservation form.

I just made a reservation for my brother for December 9-12, and the rate AmeriSuites confirmed by email was lower even than the rate listed on the ValueTrip site ($69/$75 instead of $75/$79). It was far lower than on AmeriSuites own web site. I didn't provide a credit card, preferring to call it in to guarantee the room for late arrival, so I'm not out any money at all. I can't see any downside to using the ValueTrips service so far. Perhaps someone who has actually used the rooms booked through the site can comment.
