My mother who is a young 80 year old would like to do the dolphin swim at Ocho Rios. The description says about a 30 minute swim. Does anyone know if they have to be able to swim for 30 minutes or is there a belt to help them float? She would really like to do this and is concerned. Thanks.

Do it! Do it! It's a real treat.

I did it in Ocho Rios when I was 68. The shore excursion included Dunn's River Falls afterwards, which was much more challenging physically than the Dolphin swim. Very beautiful, rocky, and slippery, and the guide took one look at these wrinkles and assisted me a lot.

During the dolphin swim, you're not in deep water, and don't feel tired at any point. It should have lasted longer.

Plan to celebrate my 70th by doing the zipline canopy tour in P.V.

Forgot to tell you in the photo of Victoria (my dolphin friend) and me, I was wearing a full flotation vest.

We did the dolfin swim in Cozumel and in our group was a man celibrating his 80th B.D. He was hessitant at first but the guides got him into it, focused on him and I really think that was the highlight of his trip.
