How much is the train ticket from Cannes to Monte Carlo?

We will be docking Cannes from 7am-3pm on NCL Gem on Saturday. This will be our last stop, want to take it easy;).

We just want to stroll Monte Carlo Square, visit the grand casino. The ship charges $89pp for 6 1/2 hours.

Can we DYI by taking the train or taxi(?), spend a couple hours there.

Any suggestions?

cost last month 12 euro return. Easy walk to station, 1 hour on train, lovely views along route. Monaco was a favourite port for us.
