Just to be clear. They opened last week and many of us are waitlisted but it is not for the inagural but rather the transatlantic.
The key point at this time:
Passengers on the waitlist will have first priority to make a booking on the trans-Atlantic voyage after the sailing date, itinerary and pricing are announced.

Sort of old news. PCC's started contacting their clients last Wednesday.
Funny thing is that they are taking "reservations" for a May 1, 2010 TA sailing and the ship is not scheduled to be completed until the end of May.

When will they announce the itinerary?
Last I heard from an executive at NCL they were planning that announcement for early September. The start of waitlists last week lines up with that date.

They probably grabbed any day in order to have a placeholder for the wait list.
NCL just posted about the wait list being open at FB today, but it is nice that PCCs having been working repeat customers prior to going public! :)

The passengers on the May 1 trip get to finish the ship. They can paint, hang curtains, stock the bars...that last one may not be a good idea! ;)

You mis-read it! We get to paint the ship red, it was "sheets to the wind" (not curtains), and de-stock the bars!!!! :p

I heard FOMT's were going to be key in making sure this was done properly due to their in depth experience in breaking in a ship...especially certain areas....

Norwegian Epic Transatlantic Waitlist Receives Unprecedented Response (http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=123667192619&ref=nf)
Since opening a waitlist for Norwegian Epic’s transatlantic cruise approximately one week ago, Norwegian Cruise Line has received an unprecedented response, signaling a keen interest in the company’s most anticipated and largest ship to date
“We’ve seen great demand for the waitlist so far, as these guests will have the first priority to book this cruise before we open it to the general public,” said Andy Stuart, executive vice president of global sales and passenger services for Norwegian Cruise Line. “Our guests have been eagerly awaiting details about Norwegian Epic’s first transatlantic cruise and we will provide that information in the near future.”
The company expects to announce the actual sailing date, cruise length and departure/arrival points of the transatlantic cruise early this fall. Those interested in Norwegian Epic’s transatlantic sailing can call their travel agent or Norwegian at 866-234-7350 to be put on the waitlist.
