I posted this on the hotel board as well, but was interested in knowing if anyone has stayed here recently? I just won this hotel on priceline for March and was wondering what people thought of this hotel? Anyone???????

I stayed there about a year ago and it was quite nice. It is across from the beach but they have a bridge that goes over the street to access the beach. The pool is a little small but overall we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Doone....
If you drive from Marriott down 17th Street Causeway past the Hyatt and keep going straight, you come to Bahia Mar. It is in the area of and not far from the Sheratons (Don Shula's Steakhouse).
It isn't a new hotel but it looks okay. We don't hear of too many cruisers staying there.

S7S, thanks for the information. I had a heck of a time getting a hotel through priceline for this date, so I am happy with this hotel. Its only one night and its better than the Comfort Inn I had booked in Hollywood, FL. From what I understand, the water taxi stops here as well, which is just what I wanted for us to go to Olas Blvd. Thanks again.

I originally found this hotel in one of my cruise brochures and can't remember which line it was, possibly Carnival. They must use this hotel as a pre or post stay. The people there were very nice. We used them for a day room because we had a late flight out. They charged me half price. Have a great time Doone as I am sure your price was great since it was with Priceline.

Cruise Freak, thanks so much, we certainly will have a great time. Thanks to you and S7S for the info on the hotel. Yes it was a good price, $100.

We've never stayed there or been in the hotel but I know just where it is and the location is good for Las Olas. Also it's good for just walking around in the area and for the beach. For a one night stay with scant availability around FLL, I think you did fine getting it for a decent rate, Doone. I'm sure it isn't the best but it surely is most definitely not the worst. You'll be fine. Enjoy!

I had the Comfort Inn booked as a back up hotel, just in case priceline didn't come through for me, so this is in a better location, so we'll find it just fine. Thanks, again.

I stayed there a few times, and found it to be a great establishment. Great location .... great food ....
Try to get a tower room, with a view of Port Everglades.
I always request that. The higher the floor, the better the view.
It's a treat to see our ships docked, waiting for us!

We have stayed there a couple times and will vouch for the great service. We liked being able to walk over the bridge and being on the beach. It is within walking distance of some very good restaurants and shopping. :) :)

We stayed there a few times. The location is very nice. It is an older hotel, but had nice renovations.
If you have time, you can make a canal-cruise, as the marina is nexto to the hotel

Thanks everyone for your experiences with this hotel. Sounds like its exactly what we're looking for as we get into Florida mid-morning.
