HA & Grand cayman

We are on Oosterdam for 12/26 sailing.
Scheduled to stop at Grand Cayman? Does
anyone know if HA is currently able to stop
at this island? Or is it a last minute decision?
I do know that GCM has begun accepting
some ships but also know that a friend was
onboard another line just two weeks ago
and informed the night before that they
would not be stopping at Grand Cayman.

You can go to the Holland America website and check your itinerary. The Westerdam December 5 cruise itinerary has been changed back to include Grand Cayman. Apparently HAL is not letting the travel agents know anything about the changes. I talked with my TA yesterday and she was surprised but said that the cruiseline can always change the itinerary at any time.

The Dec. 12 cruise on Oosterdam is now scheduled to go to Grand Cayman. For awhile they had Key West on the itinerary, but now have changed back to Grand Cayman.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about ships stopping there now. We are scheduled on Veendam for 2 weeks and they have change schedule back to Grand Cayman but TA says she knows nothing about that.

Guess we will have towait and see....

We just got back from a 7 day on the Zaandam. GC was pulled in Oct. & substituted with sea day. I found out (through the boards) on Monday that it was back on the itinerary. I received the official notice from the TA on Wed., we sailed on Sat. I had to do alot of scrambling to re-book an excursion through Capt. Marvins. Ironcially, when I read on the boards on Monday that GC was back on, I e-mailed HAL for confirmation...I have yet to receive a reponse:eek:

I'm not too sure that the Grand Cayman web page is a 100% correct. It shows the Volendam at GC on Dec 19, but the Volendam is schedule for San Martin on that day. And it better be, since that the itinerary I paid for, and that's what my docs states.

It does not show the Oosterdam on Dec. 26.

If you take a good look at the whole Grand Cayman Web page you will find it has not been updated since June 2004. The web cam, the weather report etc. this was way before the hurricanes. I would not rely on any part of the web page.
