Can someone please explain the Canaletto to me? Somehow I missed that entire scene!
I was under the impression that the Lido restaurant simply had a port and a starboard side. Perhaps, whether you are right handed or left handed, one favors one side or the other. It seems that I was always on the starboard side.
Did I really miss something or did it simply blend in?

It's just a section of Lido tables that has a little different decor. Since it is only open for dinner, if you didn't go by in the evening and see the waiters in their Italian (gondolier?) uniforms you might not have even noticed.
On the Eurodam it was only on one side, and I believe that is the case on all ships. Also, I think it is fairly small on non-Signature ships.

Well shoot. You're right, I never went there at dinner time.
Thank you for relieving my "missing something" feeling. :)

On the Veendam "The Canaletto" has it's own sign in front of the
restaurant.
It is located on the starboard side of the ship at the aft end of the
Lido Cafe, just before the new "Retreat" outdoor section.
As mentioned, it is used by the Lido in the day and then becomes the
Canaletto in the evening by reservation.
A great idea.:p
