We have stayed in 5190 and it is larger and totally covered.

we loved 8140 on the Westerdam to Alaska - see the link in my signature for photos (including the fantastic huge balcony). We hosted a nice CC group cocktail party with plenty of room.

I just returned from Westerdam on 9/6 and we had room 8140. Yes, you can see about 2 feet of the balcony from deck 9, but we never had any problems what so ever with anyone bothering us. We tended to closer to the balcony door to block some of the breeze. The side balcony is completely covered. We loved the room!
