On our transatlantic cruise on Prinsendam, they only sold postcards with the ship on it, but no HMC postcards, as the ship had spent the summer in Europe and apparently they hadn't stocked them. So I waited with my card writing until the last day of the cruise when we were on HMC, where I bought postcards in the island's gift shop.

However, I was extremely disappointed by the motives on the cards. They were really generic and didn't show much of the island. I had expected they woul have lots of different images of the beach with the cabanas and maybe even an aerial view of the island.

So in the end, I still wrote postcards with ships images, as I felt they were nicer and even romantic.

What are your thoughts about the HMC postcards?

I thought they were pretty darn ugly myself. They were very 1980's and very generic. I expected a lot more from them, since it is their showcase island. But really who wants a picture of the hobie boats and water tricycles on the beach? Not me.

Oh the ones I bought on the ship were very beautiful! Many were multi pictured, they even had a multi pictured sunset card, which I bought even tho we were not there at sunset!
I bought mine on the Zuiderdam.
