Reading through the Regent Ship Information Guide that came with my Paul Gauguin cruise docs, I saw a section on luggage tips. It advised travelers to lock their luggage when traveling in the US and stated that "U.S. airlines are not currently inspecting unaccompanied luggage". Apparently this booklet was printed before TSA was formed and never updated.

I know enough about travel within the US not to be misled by Regent's inaccurate luggage information. But I'm concerned that there might be other misleading information in there that I'm ignorant of. To those of you who've traveled Paul Gauguin or other Regent ships before - can you tell me what else is out of date in this not-so-helpful little booklet?

Well, it's a little hard to do unless we had the booklet--we threw our last one out some time back.

As for international travel, things change so often that it behooves us all to keep current. I just can't think of what else might have changed.

Take locks with you, if you don't have TSA locks--that way you can lock your luggage while you're in transit in Tahiti, on the way to the ship, whatever.

As I said, I just can't think what other changes might have occurred, without studying the booklet, so feel free to ask if there's something else you have a doubt about.
