There is a thread on Royal Caribbean advising of the shutdown. Thought I would let HAL cruisers be in the know.
You can also go to: www.sptimes.com for the local story. It's HQ in Largo, FL and had many flights in/out of St.Petersbur-Clearwater Airport.
There is a good Q&A segment in SP Times paper (which I posted on on the RCI thread) for those who may be stuck with a Southeast Airlines ticket.
Happy cruising....

That's too bad. I've never heard of this line. To become insolvent so quickly seems very strange to me.

The shut down caused a major bummer to me and mine yesterday!!!! All my family was using Southeast for their mode of transportation for our Christmas Cruise in 18 days!!! So, you can imagine our panic!!!!!!!!!!!! To get decent Christmas flights 2 weeks before and not pay a small fortune. Well, after much searching, we did come up with some decent flights at reasonable prices, on the days we needed them. Now, they just have to try to get a refund from their credit card companies. But they are coming and we are cruising for Christmas!!!!!!

I heard on the news and it's very unfortunate because they're not even filing for bankruptcy protection. They literally just shut their doors. I think folks will have little luck getting refunds since there's no money there. Unfortunately, it's not up to the credit card companies either.
Really a mess for anyone with reserved flights on this airline.

It`s affecting a lot of people here in Central Ohio, Southeast flies out of Rickenbacker AFB,(2 miles from my house) they`ve been here about 18 months. Airtran are honoring SE tickets from Dayton (70 miles West of here) for a $50 each way surcharge, I guess that`s better than paying through the nose or being without a flight....jean

So sorry for anyone who was depending on Southeast Airlines - hope everyone makes out in getting new tickets on other airlines on such short notice.
In August we dumped US Airways on our flight for Oct - San Diego - as well as all our flights for our up-coming cruises in the next couple of months. We didn't want to take any chances of them going belly-up while we were on a cruise.
