We just reduced our prices and in a few days we will launch our early booking offer which will run until 31 Dec.

Keep you posted!

There are some great fares to Greece at the moment with easyJet on sale only until June but from under 100 pounds return and fares from BA and Aegean all summer from Heathrow at around 150 pounds return

If easyCruise has reduced its prices, their computers still don't know it, or I have an unreasonable definition of "reduced".

I just did a search for an early April (VERY off-season) 4-nighter... $1200 ($600/pp)? For a Compact Inside? I just don't see a whole lot of sales at that price. I know the dollar is not exactly strong right now, but it isn't that bad. Especially for a glorified passenger ferry.

I'm going on an off-season Caribbean cruise and am only paying $660/pp, for a balcony cabin, for seven days, with true full service. I know costs are higher in Europe... but still...

I can't figure where easyCruise is thinking they will sell many berths at that price. I think what is going on is that they have been losing money hand over fist, and whoever is setting the prices has forgotten rule #1 of product pricing: what something costs has nothing whatsoever to do with what a customer is willing to pay. The willing customer's price is determined by the customer's perceived value, NOT the profit requirements of the seller. If you, a seller, cannot sell a product at a profit, than the proper thing to do is pull the plug; not waste capital on a hopeless business.

I've said it before: As much as I enjoyed them, I understand that their original dirt-cheap prices weren't profitable. But where is the money going? If they need to charge $150/pp/night in the off-season for a lousy cabin to make money, then something is seriously wrong with the cost structure.

Four nights. $1380 for two. At least, that's what the hot deal on your website shows now.

easycruisePaul, I think a lot of us who still come here are people who reveled in the first ship and the incredible 7 night cruises in the Med and the Caribbean. (Well, at least I am). When I heard you guys were moving to the Greek Isles my first thought was -- cool! (But that was also when the captain of EC1 told me they were going to be back in the Caribbean in 2008). Even with the expense of getting from the middle of N America, the thought of 7 or 14 nights on the EC1 (or EC Life) had me checking the flight prices to Athens.

But with the new pricing structure, the main reason I come to this thread is wtih the hope you return to the old price/cruise structure, obviously preferably out of the Caribbean. But "deals" such as what you guys are currently offering are simply way too much for way too little. I still have my easy cruise t-shirt that says "Cool Places Day and Night"... sadly, everything about the current version of easycruise is almost the exact opposite of the original brand. Expensive, extremely short stays in port, expensive food and beverage, and short cruises.

If you folks succeed it will certainly be from a clientele with markedly different expectations than the original crowd.

I just went on line and looked for a 3 night Greek Isles and Turkey cruise for Jun 4 2010. We really want to go back to Greece. We had a wonderful time on our comp 4 day cruise and loved Athens, but we agreed we never would have paid the going rate for our cabin (panoramic suite $4000.00!!) Crazy!
Anyway, we still have that 30% off voucher and even factoring in that, a superior outside would cost $750.00 for 3 days. I guess $250.00 per night isn't that bad including food but we could sail on a RCCL or other mainstream full service ship for 7 days for the same price. Besides, they might not even be in business by then if they don't change something soon. So we're not booking anything at this point and maybe we'll just go back to Athens and hop over to Santorini or another island or two on our own.
Will check back, though, to see if anything changes.

First, let me say thanks to you, Paul, and EC for monitoring these boards and giving us first hand information. We all do appreciate it, I'm sure! :)
But I still don't see anything different other than the line about "Book NOW to save 20%". Is there a discount code or something? When I clicked on your "Hot Deals" page it only shows 2009 dates. Am I missing something?
Thanks again!

Hi, I've been following since the days of bigorangeboat.com and met some enthusiasts onboard eC1, eC2 and eC Life. The pricing in the booking system is changed so if you go through the booking process you will see that the prices are lower than they were 2 days ago. These prices will stay as they are until 31 December.

Yes, they are lower. Looks like about $250 a day for a decent inside.

Ouch.

Sorry. Guess I'm not your prime demographic. I'm just trying to figure out who is.
