Shore excursions, St. Thomas

I just went to book our shore excursions on-line, and it seems there are fewer choices listed than on the Holland America website itinerary or in the Shore-ex booklet. There is no mention, for example, of the 2-tank scuba dive. Anyone else have a similar experience with on-line booking?

The shore excursion booklet that you get and the website's list of tours are written up for all ships sailing in that area.

Therefore not all tours are offered for all ships.

And sometimes when you get on a ship, there will be shore excursions offered that aren't in the booklet.

Thanks KK. It just seems odd that no certified scuba excursion is offered.

When booking shore excursions for our Nov 9 cruise, we used the web site, and found that several excursions we wanted were not offered for our cruise - I even called HAL to verify that. One was the mini-boats at St. Thomas, the other was the Turtle Encounter in Barbados.

When we got aboard the ship, these excursions WERE available. Our concierge was able to cancel the ones we had booked, and re-booked the one we really wanted - the Turtle encounter - BTW a terrific excursion. We did not, however, re-book for the mini-boats.

I was just about to post on this very subject.

After learning that our ship was not calling at Cabrits, I checked the shore excusion site and there were only five excursions available for Dominica. The one I really wanted to go on was not available, we we made other arrangements independently.

When we boarded the ship all sixteen shore excursions listed in the brochure were available! I was not a happy bunny.

I posted a few days ago about schedule changes for that island due to the earthquakes.

KK - we were in Dominica on Wednesday December 1st and all shore excursions were available.
