On 11/9 I made and paid the deposit through on on-line travel agent for a 3/26/05 cruise on the Zaandam. I have used this agent several times before.
However, I have yet to receive confirmation from HAL.
My daughter, who booked 2 weeks later has hers already.
I called the agent, who called HAL and was told our reservation was "still in auditing." Does anyone know what that means???
I also e-mailed HAL but just got an automated reply saying they were very busy and would take up to 3 days to get a reply
Incidently, the deposit was charged to my credit card last month.
Thanks for any info.

If it were me, I'd be calling HAL myself. I would not be taking the TA's word for 'what she was told'.

Was your Credit card charge made to HAL or the TA? I have always rec`d a confirmation # and receipt on the day I made the booking. Never heard of a res. being audited.....jean :cool:

Like S7S I'd not be happy with this - a call directly to HAL would be in order - even if it costs you........... Good Luck!

Ask your TA for the booking number. Call HAL and ask that they fax you a confirmation. Do NOT email and wait for it. If the agent at HAL who answers the phone can't help you, ask to speak with his/her supervisor. It the supervisor can't help you, ask to speak to his/her supervisor. Keep on bumping it up the line until you get a satisfactory answer. If you don't, threaten to cancel. You can also call your credit card company and have a hold put on the charge until you get satisfaction.

You can also check on line if you have the booking number.

Charliesmom has the right idea. Call Hal. If you are booked they should be able to give you a booking number.

Did the TA give you a HAL confirmation #? I've never heard of a reservation being in "auditing". I agree with Sail and others, call HAL directly and ask if you're booked. When I booked, I called HAL the next day and they were able to confirm my booking.

Also, did the charge hit your credit card as "Holland America"? That's how ours always showed up, not the name of the TA.
