Where'e the best wine selection?

Hi everyone!:)

I was wanting to know where a good wine store was in Fort Lauderdale, preferably one around 'The Pillars' Hotel or the Port Everglades. :) Thanks:) for your help!!!

The Publix supermarket on 17th Street very near (almost accross the street from) Port Everglades has a great selection of wines and has great prices as well. We always stop there to buy our take aboard wine supply.

The prices there were enough better than those back home (Atlanta) that we bought a couple of cases of our favorite wines, drove back to the plane and stored them in the baggage compartment until we got back from the cruise.

We will be shopping there again tomorrow before our December 6th Volendam cruise.

:confused: Can you carry a case of wine onboard with a pulley, or is it better to check it with the rest of your luggage?

:confused: If you check your case of wine with the steward at the dock, is it delivered to your room?

On our recent Maasdam cruise we carted a case of wine aboard. A bellperson at embark procured a wheelchair for us to use, and we took it all the way to the cabin. Very helpful. NOTE: There as no one waiting for a chair, and many chairs available. We would not have presumed to use one otherwise.

publix is a supermarket. across the street on the same side is crown liquor store, an adults toys r us! you will not be disappointed!
