Here is a review of my sailing on the Bahamas Celebration on 9/23-9/25
When we arrived at fort lauderdale parking was pretty easy we parket right at the port in the parking garage next to the ship terminal. Walking through the terminal was pretty standard we went through metal detectors, then turned in our luggage, filled out our onboard credit forms and some medical forms saying we are in good health, then we went to get a room card set up with my credit card. After that you go upstairs where you have your picture taken then go to a table where you set up your dining room selection, i picked crystal the first night and rio the second "I wanted crystal both nights but they would not allow it" After that was all done we sat down and waited no more then 10 minutes before they cleared the ship and we were alloud to board!! I belive we got on the ship around 12 or so give or take a few minutes. Now remember I had set my expectations somewhat low so i was supprised at what i saw when i first boarded. Fresh carpets wrapped wall to wall, clean crisp decorations were placed throughout the ship it was very pleasing to the eye. We were escorted to our room when we first boarded, our room was on the bottom deck the 3rd floor. It was the most basic interior room it had one double bed on the bottom with a bunk bed on top of it, very small room but it worked out fine for us, the bathroom really wasnt that bad in fact the bathroom was pretty decent. My sister was lucky she booked the same basic room as i did but she was upgraded to a much larger interior room on the 8th floor it was nice, you do notice a difference in ac on different levels, the 8th floor is the coldest, and the 3rd floor is the warmest but overal the ac on the ship wass pretty good really didnt have any problems there, and it was very hot outside when we traveled.. One of my favorite floors is the 4th floor the resturant floor It was really really nice, i love the older wood floors that some older ships have.. After we were settled in we went out to the buffet and to my supprise it had a better buffet then our 7 day carnival cruise we went on right after it, the buffet was much better then we both expected. After eating a pretty yummy lunch i decided to give the pool and hottubs and waterslide a try. This is why i loved this ship, it was pretty intamite not 1000's of people everywhere, there was never a line for the water slide "which was pretty fun i must add" The pools were nice, small but nice, and the hot tubs were great. Alchol was very well priced compared to mainstream lines it was pretty cheap, and they had no problem at all making it as strong as you want!! Dining in the crystal dining room was great We all enjoyed the food no complaints there at all!! The rio the second night was a different story, i just really wasnt impressed at all with the rio it was like a cheap buffet.. food was so so.. The italian resturant was open each night till 3am and we went there more then once it was GREAT!!!! The pasta was really good you choose what type you want and what type of sauce, and they make it for you there, you can also get meatball subs, pizza, salads, and a few other things. The food was really good there, and the service was great they always came to fill up our ice tea's the big lines pretty much stoped doing this since your not paying for it but on celebration i always had a full iced tea or whatever drink you wanted. As in other revies they do push alchol really hard, a little too hard at times your always being asked left and right.. There was no room service on this ship which was a little upsetting they should at least have sandwiches or something, but nope nothing.. The only real complaint i had was the entertainment was pretty pathetic, we walked out both shows it just was blah, but there was plenty more to do on the ship other then the shows. The breakfast buffet was also really good we ate breakfast in the rio and it was yum yum.. Overall it was a great trip not really any complaints, for the money do it and don't forget no matter what cruise line you go on there will always be a debbie downer complaining or putting something down.. It was a great trip and we had a great time on our vacation on carnival too!!!! Our room on carnival was a balcony on the top deck, what a dream! :-)
