Directions to Ft. Lauderdale

Hi cruisers, :cool:
We will be cruising on the Dec 12 Westerdam out of Ft. Lauderdale. Anyone have any suggestions on the best route to take? We are heading from North Florida. (Jacksonville). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know if you can snorkel from the beach in Tortola (Virgin Gorda) or should you take a tour? We were planning on just taking a ferry to Virgin Gorda. Thanks a bunch

Just get on I-95 south to I-595 east to the port.

Tortola and Virgin Gorda are 2 different islands. Alot of people who want to snorkel on Tortola go to Cane Garden Beach.

I-95 --- answered. Get a map from AAA for the entire trip.

Virgin Gorda - a must do - take the ferry over - book early - and watch your times.

We are also on the Dec. 12 Westerdam. Check the roll call board. We have a very active group. Even have a sail away party planned. Get on the board and introduce yourself. I guarantee everyone will invite you to the party.
We drive over from the Sarasota area. Roads are great and never had any problem getting to the port. See you Sunday.
