Would it be safe to assume that the formal nights on the 7-day HAL cruise sailing out of FLL on Sunday, stopping at HMC on Monday, and visiting Aruba on Wednesday and Curacao on Thursday, would be Tuesday and Friday, the at sea days? Does this formula pretty much hold true for all HAL cruises?

Well there are exceptions--not a formal night if it is the last night of the cruise. Then it might be a night when the ship leaves a port earlier.

I'd guess Monday and Friday.

When we did a 10-day starting Sun and stopping at HMC Mon our first two formal nights were Tues and Fri, both sea days. I think that is most likely for your 7-day as well.

Yes -- those should be your formal nights -- we did a similar itierary last year and those were our formal nights.

The Western Caribbean itinerary with a stop at HMC on Monday also had formal night on Monday. The second formal night was Thursday which was also a port day. Our at sea days were regular dining. This was on the 3/29/09 cruise.

Thank you, Krazy Kruisers. You always seem to know what is what. Please ... tell us what you thought of this particular cruise itinerary: Aruba and Curacao. We actually wanted to do the Panama Canal in January but had to opt for a less expensive option this time around. We blew our wad in Alaska this year and have to do some reining in. Still looking forward to a good time however.
