Does anyone know why the ZUI will not stop in Cozumel, but instead will call on Costa Maya? That is a great loss, not going to Cozumel. I would like to make the higher ups aware of my displeasure. Does anyone know the President's email address?
thanks

We were disappointed in Costa Maya,Prices were twice as high as Cozumel. It is a pretty port but way over priced IMO. TOM&DEB

that there is a slow but steady trend for most of the cruise lines to favor private islands and ports where they control the access to and competition for your cruise excursion bucks.

Maybe HAL decided that there were too many ships now visiting Cozumel. In the "old" days, you would never find more than 2 - 3 ships there. 2 docking at LaCiba and one tendering into downtown.
Now with in increase in the number of docking facilities, it can get very, very congested with so many ships. Also, could be that the Cozumel put a restriction on the number of ships they will allow into the port.
Sorry, but I don't feel it's going to do you any good to write to the President of HAL and as far as I know no one gives out his e-mail address.

We've been to Cozumel many, many times and much prefer it to Costa Maya. We didn't much like Costa Maya and would not be overly eager to return.
I'd much rather go to Cozumel again and again and again.

Costa Maya is a relatively small, dumpy looking beach and about 50 shops. Kept my interest for at least 20 minutes.

I thought the pool they feature in the center of the shopping to be disgusting. Wouldn't dare get in it. I cannot imagine how often they clean it or add chlorine etc

Frankly, I wouldn't buy a cruise that called on Costa Maya again ! Took a due buggy excursion to see some of the "unspoiled wilderness" they advertise. HMMMM..... very alarming !!!!!!!!

S7S--
It's not even a chlorinated pool - its a saltwater pool.
And I've had better Mexican food here in San Francisco - although I did buy a cool and inexpensive cocktail shirt in one of their shops.
Unless I was going to go do some kayaking (the nearby Mayan ruins are underwhelming), Costa Maya is just another sea day...
