 It is snowing slightly north of Boston right now... snowing just about the largest flakes I have ever seen and I've lived here all my life.
Maasdam left Saint John today, is scheduled for Bar Harbor tomorrow and will sail south to FLL.
It is likely there is snow on the deck of the beautiful Maasdam right now and I wonder when was the last time she was snowed on. :D Maybe in Greenland or Iceland but it probably isn't a common event.
Safe sailing to Maasdam and all in her.

We were on her on the spring repo north and saw some very cold weather in a couple of ports but did not see any snow. Maybe I just did not get up early enough to see it anyway. They told us in Gaspe the ice had gone out only 2 weeks before we arrived. The same in Sept Isle about the ice but did not see any snow. We saw snow here where I live in southern Ontario the other day. It is not a record for earliest but not the norm. Maybe Aliaschief will report soon as he promised me before leaving Florida and coming north to cath the Maasdam. Colakid.

I can't believe the snow that New England got. They say we're in for a very cold winter. We just had rain and temps in the 40's today. Long Island had heavy rain and flooding.

I live just west of Boston and I have never seen snow like this before. Coming out of the grocery store this afternoon, there were falling blobs of connected flakes about three inches wide. The weather at sea is usually different than inland, but this snowfall would be quite an experience for someone from a warmer climate.

I don't know about now, but I sure as heck hope there's no snow on the deck when we board her friday for two weeks in the Caribbean!

But made watching the game really funny. The way I see it, it will be 90 degrees and sunny here in January. What weird weather this year. Next, I'll be reading about the end of the world coming because the weather is so bizarre. You watch.;)

We heard from friends on Maasdam this morning and they are in Bar Harbor as scheduled, low clouds and chilly but it isn't snowing. :D
Maasdam is safely at anchor, thankfully.

For those coming to South Florida, be ready for the warm and humid weather. The high all week is suppose be between 88 and 89 and they say it might even get to be in low 90's. Right now it is partly cloudy, breezy and warm. So bring your swimsuits and have a safe trip down.

We're in Hingham now...having closed the inn for the season on Tuesday. We came up yesterday instead of today because of "windy" weather predictions for today. Having said that, we had b2b nor'easters over the weekend...one on Friday; the next on Sunday. Boats were cancelled; flights were cancelled. No snow, but heavy heavy rain and wind.
We're going to an innkeeping conference in Stowe on Sunday...and I suspect we'll see plenty of snow...I, too, think we're in for a rough winter.
