...and I was dancing all the way!

There it was - my own delightful navy blue faux leatherette folder! With my actual cruise documents!! Confirmation of my requested dining time!!! Voucher for shipboard credit from my TA!!!!!

Now, although the cruise ticket has my Mariner number on it, there were no Mariner tags or buttons (as others have mentioned).

THe only real drawback? There's still almost SEVEN WEEKS to go until we set sail on the O'Dam on January 22. O dam

Hi Dave

Congratulations on getting your documents.

Maybe I should sell all my many extra Mariner Tags on e-bay.

As for buttons - never take them on a cruise - in fact I always throw them away - they set off too many alarms - ship terminal areas as well airports - metal - at least they used to for us.

like that and you'll be all tuckered out long before your cruise!

Oh, what the hay. Go ahead and dance. :D

Congratulations. It's nice to have someone to dance with. I'm sure those 7 weeks will pass quickly with the holidays etc too (At least I hope so!). I did get my mariner tags and buttons this time but didn't on the Veendam last March.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to sit down now. Maybe I'll just stare at the luggage tags again. Or re-read the "know before you go" booklet One More Time. Or try, once again, to understand the logic of the new anti-tipping policy as so haphazardly laid out in the enclosed letter.

Right now it's raining outside, the wind's beginning to pick up (expecting 60-70 mph gusts tonight) but, to paraphrase a song that's been on the radio a lot this week:

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But my docs are so delightful
And since it's too soon to go
Let it blow, let it rain, let it blow

Congratulations - shake what your mama gave you!!! Isn't it great being able to do the document dance? Somehow, the neighbors just don't understand when we've done ours on the driveway - hopefully your neighbors are more with it. :D The 7 weeks will pass quickly and before you know it you'll be boarding that 'dam ship!

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

I know that I am late in responding, but I want to wish you all the best in your doc dance! Don't over do it, you will need to have some energy left to pack!

Mrs. Krewser would never let me near a suitcase to pack it (well, I can pack dirty clothes to come home with). My job is to fit the cases in the car!

You sound just like us, but DH doesn't pack anything either including his own clothes. I am completely responsible for packing and he gets 'surprised' when we get to our destination and he gets to find what I packed for him.:p

I, at least, pick out the clothes - even if I'm not allowed to put them into the suitcases. Of course, my DW gets to remind me about things I "forget" to pack

DH packs his own clothes, thank heaven, but only I know how to pack a car. If he packed it, most of the bags would be left at home.:D

Dak, glad you got the docs. I should then get mine next week. Keep the OO nice and tell the hotel manager to have plenty of smoked eel, haring, nasi and poffertjes on board.

Don,t wear your birkenstocks sandals since the buckles made the security alarm go off last month in the SD terminal.

In fact, I'll tell them to hold over my share of the eel and herring - just for you!

And I'd suggest Teva sandals (with velcro) which have no metal at all....
