I know it'll be much hotter than back home :) (thank goodness) but am wondering about humidity. We are from an area where the relative humidity is around 20-25%. We found Mexico pretty humid last year. Every time we walked outside in Mexico, the humidity just sapped my energy. We're doing Western Carib, if that makes any difference.
Am going to start booking shorex, and am wondering how active I should plan on!
Thanks in advance for any info!

It will definitely be more humid than you are accustomed to; however, there is usually a gentle to stiff breeze blowing which tends to lessen the impact of higher humidity. It tends to sap your energy because humid air is harder to breath than dry air in general. You are the only one who can tell how much activity you can take in humid weather and should plan accordingly instead of relying on another person's opinion.:)

Excellent point! We're used to humidity so the Caribbean feels "dry" to us. We have noticed the difference between the islands though and Mexico or say Panama where it can get fairly humid even in what passes for "winter" there.

I wasn't really going to rely on another's opinion of how strenuous our activites should be.... I was just wondering what others' opinions were of the humidity :) I added the bit about Mexico as a comparison, I was very conservative with our shorex in Mex, nothing strenuous that went longer than about 3 hours. So I guess I'll work on the same sort of guideline. Thanks for the info on "breezes" ... very helpful! (And hurrah, I have a valid reason to skip the "jungle hike" that DH wants to do!)

Didn't find Jan£Feb humid at all in both the Caribbean & Mexico. I think it's humid just before the rains later in the year.
