We are traveling in the S cat on the ossterdam over christmas and wondered if anyone knew about computer access. I was thinking of bringing my laptop. I already have wireless at home and the card. I was wondering if that help me out at all with not having to purchase a card from hal. Is there a computer in the suite already?:) Also, we hope the suite is all what it is stated to be. The suite looks really small on the internet. Are the beds that cozy???
Thanks,
Lisa

By all means bring your laptop. There are a number of WiFi access points on the ship; I found the signal strongest in the Atrium. You will save time and money using your own equipment, laptop and wifi card.
You can dance in the S category suite and the beds are to die for. Never slept better.

thanks for the info. We have never sailed with HAL and are hoping for a great experience. Did you take part in the fitness center activities? How was the roomservice food? Many people on the board like the neptune lounge. Did you use it very much>
Thanks, Lisa:)

Leave your laptop at home. You are on a cruise, enjoy it. Why would you want to bring your laptop? you are on a cruise to relax and have fun. Vacations are for getting away from everyday problems, work and worries. Leave Your Laptop Home!! :D

My DH brings his laptop and sometimes plays casino games-no problem losing money that way. He has a fun time doing it while relaxing.

Had a suite on the Oosterdam last Feb/Mar - loved it. The room is just slightly smaller than on the "R" and "S" class ships. The balcony is the quite a bit smaller.
We use the Neptune Lounge quite a bit on all the ships. Great for quick breakfasts when you have something to do in port. That's when we catch up on CNN news - TV better there.

I prefer to bring my personal laptop while cruising - it enables me to download photos and burn CD's for folks as well as do some writing in my cruise-journals.
There is internet access in all staterooms aboard Vista Class ships - tho its pricey and slooooow. Unless you're on a long cruise (or really want to post messages here while you're gone) save your $$$ and send the e-mails, etc. when you're in the airport terminal waiting for your flight home...

I agree with Brian. Take it. It allows you to watch movies on the airplane, play music in your room, download pictures each day, and write in your journal. It is a pain to tote, but well worth it.
