How do you know which side of the ship is the best to book?

I always try to book the inside. The outside has a tendancy to be wet...and sometimes cold.

It was easy for me.
The Spa Suites are only on one side of the ship! :D

I really don't think it makes much difference which side of the ship you are on.

However, I have a tendency to book balconies on the port side and have done so on the EPIC.

Which side is the port side? Is the docking at all ports the same?
Thx

Port is left. 4 letters in port, 4 letters in left.

Right = starboard.

The ship may dock on the port side, OR on the starboard side.

We chose the port side for different reasons - more sun in the AM on the days at sea - when we are on the balcony enjoying some quiet time. Also, what was under, above, and in front of our room (Courtyard Villa) made choosing the room location easier for us as well.

Kidding, right?

Anyways, since the ship has NEVER, EVER been to any ports, who knows what side she will tie up on. And, quite often a ship ties up one way part of the time, and another the next time.

And, depending on where you are sailing, you could be heading east or west or north or south, therefore have different sides.

Then the next argument, if somehow you knew the answer to all of the above, then which is better. Some like morning sun. Some like sunsets. Some like dockside. Some like the harbor side.

Yikes!

Well! I'm not taking 'sides' on this issue!
I booked a stern balcony for my cruise next month! :D

OK. So what if I take a 'cruise to nowhere' and travel in a circle???

Depends...are you turning left, or right? If you're turning left, then the port side will be on the inside of the circle, and darkened by the ships own shadow (assuming you're doing donuts).

The real trick is figuring out how to lay-down rubber, since you won't have any tires....

This is one of the many reasons that we try to always book an aft-facing balcony suite......you get to enjoy views from both sides, and there is NO WIND. We were delighted to book one of the 7 penthouse courtyard suites on Epic, which still gives you access to the private villa/courtyard areas, even though you will have to walk a half mile to the front of the ship in order to use them.

On Oasis the starboard (right) is the side showing the port and is tied up on that side all the time. So if it hold true for this ship as well then the starboard side is the side tied up to the dock and the port side will face the water.

In Naussa you got a view of Atlantis resort on the port side.

Whew!!! Now I'm really glad I booked an inside.....I surely would have somehow chosen the "wrong" side!!!;)
Actually, I hope I don't spend much time in my cabin...I want to explore this great ship!:)
Thanks for all the laughs!
