Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt Place Hotel on 10th ave. in Fla.? I made a reservation last April for next Jan., called today to confirm everything like a shuttle from the airport and to the cruise ship. Price was so much better than the Embassy by over $100. They said the hotel is booked solid. Just wondered what you thought about it if you stayed there. Thanks. Barb:)

I will be staying there in January pre-cruise. The reviews are good, they have a free shuttle to/from airport and cruise port, and offer free breakfast. The best part? It was only $89/night via Hotwire!

Hubby and I stayed there for 1 night pre-cruise in April. It was roomy with an "L" shaped couch, desk, mini bar, and large TV. The bed was comfy. The bathroom had some signs of wear but nothing disgusting. The hotel was very convenient to the Publix market, which is a couple of blocks away. We walked over and grabbed a pack of sodas to take onboard. The shuttles from the airport and to the pier are very convenient. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again for a night. If I were planning to stay in Ft. Lauderdale longer, I would book something on the beach. We stayed at the Marriott Beach Place for 2 nights post-cruise and found it to be very nice, but pricier than Hyatt Place. We got a suite with a kitchen, balcony, and oversized whirlpool bath.

Thanks everyone for the information. Guess I should have checked hotwire, didn't get our room that cheap. Our g-daughter will get the couch. Everyone who is going cruising, have a good one. Barb:)

We stayed one night pre-cruise at the Hyatt Place on 10/23. The Hotel was great, the staff very nice, the room was beautiful, Free WiFi.

We got into FLL right around 3:00pm. A shuttle was right outside our terminal when we collected our bags and called the hotel for a pick-up. Had plenty of time to walk to Publix and pick up a few things, hang out by the pool and relax before dinner.

They had a very nice complimentary breakfast. Folks started lining up for the shuttle to the cruise piers at around 10:15. They were supposed to start running the shuttles to the Port at 11:00, but decided to start early. We had dropped off our luggage with the Stevedores and were through Security waiting in the embarkation lounge by 10:35.

You can book the Hyatt Place with confidance!

I stayed there last year prior to my cruise. It's a very nice hotel for the price. The room was large and comfy. I also took advantage of using the free computer downstairs to check on last minute items.
You are within walking distance of restaurants and stores for last minute items.
The staff was nice and since I like to board late, I was able to stay in my room a little later than check out time and catch the shuttle right to the port. The port is only about five minutes away.
I'm waiting for December 2010 to open up to book my room!!!

Maybe we'll meet in the lobby if there's time. We don't get into Fla. until 4:30pm. Good to hear so many nice reports on this hotel. Barb:)

I read on on of the other boards that they charge $12.00/day to park the car. we are staying at Hyatt place in December, and am still checking prices to park at the pier. Checking out Park-n-fly online($55.00)/week, or find a hotel that includes parking the car in the price.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Oct. 13th before our Zuiderdam cruise. The rooms are very nice, my husband loved the LARGE TV! The staff was very nice and accommodating. There is a Publix grocery store and a Total Wine store a short walk away. Outback Steakhouse next door. Free computer access in the lobby. Free breakfast. The air conditioners were a little loud we finally just turned it off for the night. We would definately stay there again.

We might even meet at the airport! We are arriving at Term.2 at 4:30 and my sister is arriving around the same time at Term.3.

Either way enjoy your cruise!

We are also arriving at Term. 2 at 4:35, no gate yet. If you see an older couple and a tall blonde if she is wearing her high heels, that's us. Enjoy your cruise also. Barb:)

Hyatt hotels are usually very exceptional. I'm very pleased with their service and rooms.

Rooms look quite nice and we get 1000 Hyatt gold points. The parking is free the first night and $10/day while on cruise but they will drop us at the pier and pick up on return so that is a savings over parking at the pier ($15).

Stayed there 3 times in the past 2 yrs.

Very nice place but the breakfast isn't anything to get excited about and when the shuttle does leave for the ships it usually is a mob scene to get on it , so we take a cab, a lot easier.

OUTBACK steakhouse is next door and it is very good.

KCWe took the noon shuttle over and only had 6 of us onboard. We noticed the earlier shuttles were packed when we were eating breakfast. Agree the breakfast wasn't anything amazing, but it was free. ;) Even leaving at noon, we were checked in and onboard by 12:45 so we had to wait a while for the cabins to be ready. The Lido deck was packed with no places to sit while we waited.
