We sail on the escape on Friday but not had our tickets yet, I was told they was on the way for the last two wks. I know the post strike has'nt helped but they said they would be here anyway so i thought they was useing a courier. I know we will be picking them up at the airport now unless they come tomorrow has anyone else had this problem with Thompson.s.

Hi, we got our tickets through normal postal service yesterday. I know we don't go for a few weeks, but it did suprise me a little. I'd ask them to confirm that they have sent them at all. But yeah looks like an airport pick up jobby now.

I have rang them twice other the last couple of weeks, they said they was issued on the 21st oct and i would get them in time. I rang last Friday said i might still get them or pick them up at airport, i am going to check with them tomorrow if nothing in the post, even with the post strike they should have been here i would have thought.

It's odd they've not arrived by now. We're in middle of moving mortgage and even with the strike we're getting stuff through in a couple of days.
At least you can pick up in airport with your docs.

Good luck with them and have a great cruise.
Still 5 weeks to go for us :( I want to go NOW!

With us going so close to it we'll have to get everything done before going.

Last june we were all inclusive. and the paperwork said we could use the card until we left the ship. On the last afternoon at one bar it was refused and I was told I had to pay cash. After standing my ground and the barman making a phone call he apologised and said he had had conflicting info and of course I could use my "All Inc" card. Just thought this may be of interest. We are on it again on the 20th Nov.
Last time we got upgraded to all inc free. This time we had to pay. Ha Ha.

Does your paperwork say you have to use cash on the last day? Just find it a bit odd on a 'cashless' ship.. as they like to call them!
Ahh well I've just have to raid other halfs pockets for money ;)

No the paperwork said we could use our all inclusive cards until we left the ship. I never used cash at all. It was just that a barman who got it wrong and said we could not use the cards. Once he checked it was ok.

Hi All,
The Current Island Cruises brochure says in the back under "Your Cruise"
"On Island Escape the All Inclusive upgrade is not available on disembarkation day".

The wording is identical in the back of the Thomson's cruise brochure too.

Hi Megabby + Simples

We go on 20th too. Not got our tickets yet either.:( Saw on other thread people going on 27th have already got their tickets.

What have they done with ours, we've all probably got caught up in the postal strike.

Did you book through a TA or over the net?

I did it on net and if not arrived tomorrow going to phone to see where they are.

Hi Mary,
If we were going on 20th and no tickets yet DW would be having a nervous breakdown

Just an extra to the A.I. discussion. The Thomson's winter Caribbean cruises are out for the Destiny and Dream for next winter. There is no "free" A.I as an early booking incentive.

Hi Berwyn, In our book there is no section titled "Your Cruise". What it does say is that you can use cash on the last day after your account has been settled. But that is for people not on all inc. I can't find any reference to All Inc. at all. Having paid £338 for the two of us there will be a row again if we can't. Ha Ha

Hi,
If you've got the Island Cruises brochure issued April 2009 it's on page 84 bottom left under Your Cruise.
Last time we would have spent much less than £169 each if we had not had "free" A.I. and we were not going dry.
This time our 2 sons in their 20's are coming with us and he can neck a pint of Stella practically straight down. I'm sure he'll get my money's worth. :)
As I'm paying for them.
I can't see anywhere about using cash on last day.

If you want a scary one try that one. It's Fred Olsen's Black Watch coming into Coruna. It really starts getting bad about one and a half minutes in. Run with it to the end.
There are comments from people who were aboard at the time too

That was better than the Black Watch. I'd have hated to have been aboard.

Funny thing was, I kept getting a banner up across the bottom of the video offering discount on cruises.

Hi Berwyn, That ship was sailing from Tunis to Barcelona when the storm struck.
A giant wave smashed a bridge window, knocking out the control systems. When we had our storm the Captain said it was rated a "Strong to violent Storm", not sure what that is on the scale of 1 to 10, I was on deck with my video but they made everybody go inside. It didn't look as good through the window. At least I found out that I don't get seasick. Ha Ha.
