Would any recent cruisers on the Quest please let me know at what time they were able to embark ? Our cruise documents state 1500 though on previous cruises we have boarded the ship around lunchtime.

Hi! We are on the same cruise. We plan on taking the 11:38 train from Rome which should get us to the ship around 1:00. From what I have read on here, there should not be a problem to embark early.

Hi
You can usually embark any time from around11.30am onwards. In fact, reading the daily Pursuits for embarkation day from our recent cruise on the Journey, activities like tours around the ship etc began at 11am. However, staterooms are not usually ready until 1.30pm but lunch is served in the cafe from around 11.45-12noon onwards and on arrival you can leave your carry-ons to be taken to your room, whilst you enjoy lunch.
Have a wonderful time
Lynne :)

We were on the Quest in August. Same port. We check in at 12:30 our friends were on by 11:30. So no problem. It was also one of smoothest embarkations we have had on any ship. (18 cruises and counting)

Thank you to everyone for all the helpful replies. This will be our third cruise with Azamara but the first from a European port. We,too, have found embarkation smooth & efficient on Azamara.
The last time we left from Civitavecchia we were on a Silversea ship and embarked early afternoon. We met a couple who arrived mid-morning but were told they couldn't board as they weren't Venetian Society members and nor had they paid the Early Embarkation fee ..... so they were sent away to wander around Civitavecchia for a few hours until they were allowed on ship. As is often mentioned there are differences between Silversea and Azamara and this is one of them !! Perhaps they don't want passengers on the ship consuming all the (free ?) alcohol before the cruise has started .....
