Has anyone taken the bus/ferry excursion to St Bart's from Phillipsburg? If so, was it worthwhile?

We haven't taken the ferry from Marigot nor a ship's
excursion. However, we have stayed on St Bart's and
very much like the island. The island itself is an
experience but there is not a lot [specifics] to see .
There are several beaches...nice French restaurants
for a lunch and good, but expensive, shopping.

On the St. Martin's Message Board, there is a post by Blackrobe that deals with the tour to which I think you are refering(it was a Princess tour and sailed to St. Barth's from Marigot, though.) You might want to check it out.

We were on the Westerdam trans-atlantic and signed up for this excursion, but it was canceled by the tour operator, not HAL, because there weren't enought signed up. My impression, not a fact, was about 25 had signed on. We did not try to do it on our own.
